It’s not too early to start planning your holiday shopping! A handful of seasonal markets will open their doors soon for patrons to shop from high-quality, homemade gifts made by local artists. See what’s coming up soon!

WEIHNACHTSMARKT

The WEIHNACHTSMARKT in the Harmony, PA National Historic District recreates the magic of holiday markets that are famous in Europe. From November 9th – 10th, families can enjoy live entertainment and demos, German food and drinks, horse-drawn wagon rides, Harmony Museum tours, and also free kids’ activities.

Shop from the many holiday gifts and treats sold by high-quality vendors and artisans. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors/students/Harmony museum members, and free for ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

I Made It! Market for the Holidays

The 17th annual I Made It! for the Holidays is coming up Saturday, November 16th from 10am – 4pm at The Block Northway. Over 100 artists from across the region will be on site to showcase their items, including jewelry, housewares, ceramics, woodworking, candles, honey, jelly, baked goods, dip mixes, stickers, children’s items, and also pet gifts.

Peoples Gas Holiday Market

The magic of the holidays in Pittsburgh is abundant at the Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Market Square! Inspired by the original German Christkindlmarkts (or “Christmas Market”), the Peoples Gas Holiday Market brings a cherished European tradition to Pittsburgh.

Take a stroll through dozens of vendors set up in Alpine-style wooden chalets, brimming with amazing holiday gifts. The market will be open daily starting November 22nd, except Thanksgiving, until Sunday, December 24th.

Arts & Crafts Holiday Spectacular

This season, the Monroeville Convention Center will host the 27th annual Arts & Crafts Holiday Spectacular event.

This market features over 300 booths of arts, crafts, and pre-packaged foods. There’s a small ticket entrance fee to visit this market. Learn more here!

Miracle on Main Street in Zelienople

Zelienople’s largest charity event of the year, Miracle on Main Street, takes place Thursday, December 5th from 4pm – 8pm.

Area residents are invited to attend this family-friendly event featuring tons of activities like sleigh rides, a live nativity with animals, a light-up Christmas parade, cookie decorating, photos with Santa, and more fun from local businesses and patrons!

Handmade Arcade’s Holiday Market

One of the biggest holiday markets in the city returns December 6th – 7th at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Hosted by Handmade Arcade, the Holiday Market celebrates 20 years of shopping small and supporting the region’s creative economy by connecting shoppers with handmade, one-of-kind products created by talented vendors. Over 275 makers and artists from around the region will be on site to sell their handmade products at the market.

Guests can also participate in free interactive art-making activities and view live artistic demonstrations. Also, tickets for the Holiday Market are free! There will be two special paid ticketed events on Friday evening and Saturday morning for attendees who want to shop without the crowds.

Uptown Winter Market & Holiday Celebration

Mt. Lebanon residents are invited to the annual tree lighting event on Saturday, December 7th.

This year will be packed with more activities like visits with Santa, holiday shopping with craft and food vendors, a cookie tour, elf scavenger hunt, and more. Learn more and get updates on the Facebook page.

Crafts and Drafts Holiday Show

Crafts are the name of the game at this market at ! This family-friendly, free event on Saturday, December 14th will feature talented local artists and makers with an array of holiday gifts.

Taking place at East End Brewing Company’s Larimer Brewpub, adult shoppers can also grab a craft beer while browsing through the holiday crafts. Learn more here!

Winter Artists’ Market 

Hosted by the Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media, the Winter Artists’ Market will take place at their Shadyside studios on Saturday, December 14th from 10am – 4pm.

Lawrenceville Cookie Tour

The city’s sought-out Lawrenceville Cookie Tour is back December 14th – 15th. The Cookie Tour runs along Butler Street and Penn Avenue and includes over 75 vendors with a variety of everyone’s favorite cookies. During the tour, visitors can stop by each participating business to grab free a homemade cookie. Visitors are encouraged to stay and shop among the stores and also grab a bite to eat at area restaurants.

The event is open to all ages and does not require an admission ticket. Just look for the Gingerbread Man sign to signal the cookie stop along the tour. Other businesses will also offer a complimentary cup of coffee or a glass of beer for adults. Guests are recommended to only take one or two cookies per stop so there’s enough for everyone to enjoy on the tour. For those who want a lift, Molly’s Trolleys will run a free trolley ride up and down the street on tour days.
