We’re here with another #ShopSmall gift guide…and this time, it’s for the foodie in your life. (Have some yinzers in your life? Check out this gift guide!) We’re all about supporting our local businesses this holiday season as we shop!

Because if 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we could probably stand to have some beer stashed in our fridge…just in case. Baldwin Beer has over 100 of the best domestic, imported, and craft beers to pick from. You can get them by the case, six pack, or even just single bottles. Plus they have lottery tickets, pop, snacks, even ice and propane if you need any for your socially distanced holiday gatherings. So wrap up a scratch off and a six pack, and maybe get some for yourself, too.

You know how restaurants always seem to have the best seafood? Well, treat your foodie to the same premium quality, culinary approved seafood products that the pro’s use by shopping at Western Edge Seafood Outlet. We love buying gifts that people wouldn’t normally buy themselves, and seafood can get pretty pricey, but you’ll get your money’s worth here! Western Edge Seafood can help you out with cooking advice and answering any questions you have. They also have a variety of sides, spices, sauces, breadings, and coatings from around the U.S. to complete your gift.

Jenny Lee Swirl Bread

Are you even from Pittsburgh if you haven’t had Jenny Lee’s signature cinnamon swirl bread? It’s everyone’s favorite…probably because it’s bathed in butter and rolled in cinnamon sugar, which also makes it perfect for that holiday French toast! We love giving a variety of their breads out as gifts because they’re non-GMO and all natural. And Jenny Lee Swirl Bread has been baking in Pittsburgh since 1895, so you know they’re legit. This is the perfect gift for that foodie that has every gadget, so stock up!

Applelicious

Make your day – or your foodie’s day – exceptionally sweet with some treats from Applelicious. They specialize in favors for weddings, showers, and parties, but we also love to give them out as gifts. There’s something so nostalgic about their gourmet apples and other treats. We think the Peanut Butter Blast is the perfect combination of caramel, chocolate, and peanut butter…but you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. Your foodie is sure to love whatever sweets you pick out for them!

The Washington Brewing Company / The Washington Wineries

We also love gifting experiences, so treat your favorite foodie to dinner and drinks at The Washington Brewing Company. They pride themselves on their hand crafted, small batch lagers, IPAs, and seasonal brews. Which pair perfectly with their proprietary blended Bubba’s Burghers (yep, Bubba you hear on the radio), wood fired pizzas, and house smoked pulled pork sandwiches. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, thanks to their newly covered deck. And don’t forget to pick up some wine (another great gift!) at their sister winery, The Washington Winery, before you leave!

BreadWorks Bakery

BreadWorks Bakery has been a Pittsburgh staple since 1979. They bake over 60 varieties bread and rolls fresh daily to deliver to their 500+ customers around the city. All of their breads are preservative-free and contain 0 grams trans-fat, so you can feel good about giving them to your friends and family. Their rustic and traditional breads are delicious, but we’re here for their seasonal holiday breads: pumpkin bread and sweet egg bread for Thanksgiving, sweet egg bread for Christmas, and chocolate babka to ring in 2021. Protip: if you’re getting the chocolate babka, get more than you think you need because, well, it didn’t last more than 2 days in our house…ahem. We love that BreadWorks does their part to help out our community by donating all of their unsold bread to area shelters, food kitchens, and other organizations who work to make sure no one goes hungry.

Amruss (Ustianochka Vodka)

Maybe your foodie is more into vodka…enter Ustianochka Vodka. Smooth and clean, it plays exceptionally well with whatever mixer you prefer. We’re putting together some Moscow Mule kits for our friends with local ginger beer, copper mugs, limes, and, of course, Ustianochka Vodka. It’s available at your local PA Fine Wines and Good Spirits store, so make sure you grab a bottle for yourself, too 😉

Bedillion Honey Farm

There are two gift routes you can take with Bedillion Honey Farm: they’re a family farm and apiary producing local raw honey and beeswax. At their Farm Shop, you can get everything from their own honey and beeswax to the best single source varietals from around the U.S., infused and creamed honeys, beeswax candles, homemade soaps and body care, maple syrup, jams and jellies, and more. They’re open year-round so you can stop by the store, order online for no-contact pickup, or even have your order shipped to you. OR…you could buy everything your foodie needs to become a beekeeper! They sell all of the supplies, including the honeybees, you need to keep bees. Obviously you’ll want to make sure that’s something your foodie is into before getting them bees, but we think it’s a unique and cool gift idea!

Pike Inn Diner

Finally, we can’t say enough good things about Pike Inn Diner. They’re offering a newly expanded menu with a variety of gourmet sandwiches, dinners, and their famous homemade cheesecake. And they’ve been rated as one of the top breakfast spots in Western PA. Whether you take your foodie for a date, grab some takeout to enjoy with them or just drop a meal off, we know they’re going to love it.
