As temperatures drop, it doesn’t mean your workouts have to stop! We’ll miss our hikes, walks, swimming and other activities this season but can look forward to a variety of indoor fitness opportunities to stay active. Here are five fitness centers to check out!
FA Climbing and Fitness
Whether you’re an experienced climber or a first-timer, FA Climbing and Fitness in Station Square is full of adventure! The space features a world-class bouldering terrain, a fully stocked fitness and training room, yoga classes, and plenty of space to connect with other climbing enthusiasts.
Test your skills on the bouldering terrain with walls up to 15 feet tall with a huge variety of features such as aretes, dihedrals and an enormous arch. The center also offers memberships for individuals, students and families, plus private and group climbing classes.
YogaSix
It’s all about calm minds and strong vibes at YogaSix. With a location in the South Hills and the newly opened Cranberry studio, YogaSix offers six classes including 101, hot yoga, slow flow, power, restore, and sculpt and flow.
The classes are energizing, empowering and welcoming for yogis of all levels. The variety of classes help strengthen the body by tapping into accessible yoga poses, fluid movement and breath. Enjoy fun playlists in classes led by instructors with great energy.
MADabolic
Kick your workout into full gear with MADabolic. Located in the Strip District, and soon in the North Hills, MADabolic is known for their 50-minute classes taken four times per week. Participants rotate between three highly distinct-yet-complementary interval classes to create a well-rounded approach to your strength and fitness.
The three class categories include Momentum (a gradual build in intensity), Anaerobic (all-out maximum effort) and Durability (a steady grind focusing on stability and stamina). The energy and intensity of the classes is sure to pay off!
CycleBar
Blast calories at CycleBar, a cycle studio with two locations in the North Hills and Robinson. The music-driven, instructor-led classes deliver high energy, but low-impact workouts. Spin to your favorite songs in a room full of power and grit.
The first ride is free for new members! At the end of each class, participants receive an email on their stats (called CycleStats) to help track toward their fitness goals. You don’t have to be the best in the room; just bring your best self!
Ekstasis Movement Studio
Ekstasis Movement Studio in East Liberty is a privately-owned personal training establishment led by Coach Dorian Robertson, a physical therapist-turned-personal trainer. Coach Dorian recognized the importance of overall fitness and the opportunity to help people avoid the need to spend time recovering from preventable injuries and dysfunction due to counterproductive health and lifestyle habits.
