We love the anticipation of a new restaurant opening in Pittsburgh. After closing Avenue B, local chef Chris Bonfili created the new concept, Bonfire, located at 2100 East Carson Street, right on the Southside.  Here they will feature two different restaurants serving different menus and vibes on opposite floors. The bottom floor restaurant will be opening their doors later this month while the upstairs will be opening just a couple weeks following.

Downstairs, restaurant goers will be able to enjoy Bonfire’s comfort food menu items all day and night until 1am.  This is perfect for night owls, but also for those who wish to miss the action on the Southside after 2am. This menu will offer flatbreads and sandwiches which will be cooked in a wood-fired oven displayed right in the dining room. Other yummy eats like mac and cheese will also be served.  We can taste the deliciousness now. Make sure to look out for their weekend brunch options!

The restaurant upstairs  has a formal lounge feel, offering seasonal eats and a craft cocktail bar. This will be perfect for a date night or a special get together with family and friends.  While this is menu is more upscale, it is still accessible. There is even talk about bringing back Avenue B’s famous meatloaf for a special menu item. Reservations are highly recommended.

Like we mentioned before, we love a new restaurant in Pittsburgh. Especially when the concept comes from an already well known local chef.  We are looking forward to our first of many visits to Bonfire.
