Cookies…or Art?

Do you find yourself slowly following more and more accounts on social media that fall under a certain category? Like, you’re going through a skincare phase so you follow a bunch of skincare experts. Or you’re loving food trucks, so you follow alllll the local food trucks. Well, we’ve noticed a trend as we scroll lately – decorated sugar cookies.

Now, we aren’t talking your typical buttercream-and-sprinkles sugar cookies from your childhood. We’re talking cookies that make us ask the question: are these cookies, or are they works of art? The answer is both.

Sugar cookies decorated with royal icing have been around, since, well, probably forever. But we are noticing a ton of accounts posting cookies that look too beautiful to eat! So, you know we had to find as many Pittsburgh bakers and bakeries offering custom decorated sugar cookies as we could.

We are totally daydreaming of making the holidays a little extra special this year with a plate of gorgeous sugar cookies. And, what a unique gift to mail to someone if your normal plans can’t happen this year? (Although, you should note that many bakeries can’t ship because of health code regulations – but there’s nothing stopping you from shipping them after you buy them!)

You should also note that we can only say “omg aren’t these cookies uh-mazing” so many ways…so we’re just going to let the cookies do the talking 😉
