Pittsburgh Takeout COVID-19 Edition

If you’re anything like me, you severely underestimated this corona-virus and I mean… BAD. I think it’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve been to the grocery store? No wait… 3.  We all procrastinate, right? Maybe that’s just me. So I went to the store… and CHAOS! have you been? My mind went from having a solid meal plan for 2 weeks to grabbing 6 boxes of macaroni and cheese and running to the toilet paper aisle (news flash, if you haven’t heard- no toilet paper). 

So, now, with only 6 boxes of mac and cheese I had to decide what else I’m going to eat for the next 2 weeks. 

Don’t get me wrong- I love ordering pizza, but living off of Domino’s Pizza isn’t the most viable solution (i’m an adult now). And if you’re anything like me, I like to treat myself to a good meal every once in a blue moon.

So don’t worry we did some research, here are some places offering COVID-19 friendly meals. 

Soergel’s

Yes- they are so much more than a pumpkin patch. A little further from the city, but we’re quarantined right? This is your perfect “I need to take a drive” excuse. From produce, to carry out food, to the greenhouse. This might be the vacation you’re needing right now. Stop and grab a sandwich from the cafe and head over to see Randy at the greenhouse for a new inviting house plant to awaken your quarantine. 

Noodlehead

THANK THE HEAVENS.. right? I love some good Pad Thai. Order online or call in! They are currently offering take out orders and update! Their delivery service is here! Here’s how you place it:  Call their temporary hotline 412-295-4580 between 12:30pm to 8:30 pm must be within a 3 mile radius, $20 minimum- Cash only! 

Caffe Mona

Did someone say free? Yes! Do you live in Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, or Shadyside?  Caffé Mona is now offering FREE delivery on ALL called in orders to the restaurant. They have staff smiling and ready on hand to deliver to your door during the quarantine. Don’t fret if you don’t live here! You can still stop in for some carry out. 

Revel

Looking for toilet paper? Look no further! If you haven’t seen our post already on Instagram Revel is offering free toilet paper with any purchase of a takeout item. **While supplies last**

Something I don’t skip (hint it’s not leg day)- is TACO TUESDAY! Yes that is right- you can STILL celebrate Taco Tuesday with high quality tacos not to mention, they’re currently offering half off 6 packs? Count me in. And the best part? You don’t even have to get out of your car! Lowkey Taco has a drive thru option so no touching any doorknobs on this trip (unless it’s your own of course)! 

Aladdin’s Eatery

Open for carryout, Grubhub and Doordash for the next couple weeks at their Mt. Lebanon, McKnight and Squirrel Hill locations (BONUS: Mt. Lebo has some takeout specials for online orders). Hours will be slightly adjusted, as they will be open 11-8:30 Sunday-Wednesday and 11-9 Thursday-Saturday. Full menu available!

Ineffable Caphe

Two words: Curbside Express! I’m here for it. Another one offering their full menu to go without the hassle of leaving your car. Special pricing alert! $2 off any rice bowls and bahn mi for anyone who stops by during these corona- crazies!

Gosh, anyone else having a hard time getting inspiration for the kitchen? No just me..? Ok.. Anyways… B52 is offering family meals for pickup! Perfect for a surprise quarantine date! The Yard

Ugh the best place when I am feeling tomato soup and any sort of cheesy melt!! Thank goodness COVID-19 hasn’t ruined this for me. Not only are they offering half off domestic 6 packs, any order for pick up of $30 or more will receive a free order of pub pretzels or mac attack balls.

Spello

Take a trip to Mars- no really! Spello, located at 100 Adams Shoppes, Mars, PA is offering mouthwatering takeout options! Grab your favorite bottle of wine and call into Spello to order some delicious cuisine! Takeout menu is available Tuesday through Sunday 4pm-8pm and can be found on their Facebook.
