City Winery’s Signature Items

The philosophy behind the food and beverage at City Winery is to create incredible signature items complimented by menu items specific to the Pittsburgh location. They focus on using locally-sourced ingredients. With this menu of classics and local favorites, City Winery curates a wine pairing for each dish. If you’re worried you may not like the pairing option, City Winery’s menu has several food selections with multiple suggested wine pairings.

One of these dishes is the Lutenitsa, an entree with roasted eggplant, piquillo pepper, whipped garlic confit, and pita. The suggested pairings for this menu item are both Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. If you aren’t sure what choice to make, take a look at the tasting notes of each wine! The full menu lists the Pinot Noir notes as finesse, cherry, and complexity. The Cabernet Sauvignon is listed as fruit leather, blackberry, and slightly rough.

Speaking of the Pinot Noir, it was our favorite wine when sampling the selection of reds and whites at their preview event! We loved so much of what we tried – food and wine – with our favorite dish being the Lamb Meatballs. They are the perfect shareable with their whipped feta, za’atar, and crispy mint, YUM! Their brunch menu also includes pairing notes as the lunch and dinner menu does.
