Just because Christmas has passed doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy being festive! The holidays also include New Year’s Eve after all! The perfect way to spend the days leading up to New Year’s Eve, or the holiday itself, is at the stunning Maverick Hotel and the Holiday House pop-up bar. The Maverick Hotel is a boutique hotel inside the old YMCA building nestled in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The Holiday House is their festive pop-up bar this season! We are here to give you the scoop on this limited-time cozy and stunning spot.

As mentioned, the Holiday House is a festive pop-up bar located inside the Maverick Hotel. Decked out with Christmas trees of all sorts, stringed lights, and sparkle, the Holiday House is the perfect place to grab a drink with friends and family in town for the holidays. They will be open Thursday and Friday the 29th and 30th from 4:30 pm to midnight, with a happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. You can sip on their festive featured cocktails, tasty shots, wine, seltzers, or brews. Some of our favorite selections from the cocktail menu are the Sugar Plum Fairy and Ye Olde Fashioned. The Sugar Plum Fairy is crafted with local Boyd & Blair vodka, lavender, lemon, and bubbles. Ye Olde Fashioned is composed of bourbon, bitters, Demerara sugar, and orange. The Holiday House even has 2 draft cocktails, the Mistletoe Mule and the Holly Jolly (the Holly Jolly is made without alcohol so anyone can enjoy it). If you’re not a cocktail person, try some of the Personal Day seltzers from the local favorite, Maggie’s Rum Farm!

This holiday pop-up is in collaboration with two downtown businesses, Emerson’s and Market St. Grocery. Emerson’s is an adorable and quaint spot for craft cocktails, delightful wine, and bites made of high-quality ingredients. It is located on the 2nd floor right above Market St. Grocery in Market Square. Market St. Grocery is a lunch and dinner spot perfect for grabbing a quick bite to dine on or take out. With these two wonderful businesses collaborating with the Maverick Hotel for the Holiday House, there is no doubt you will love this bar!

Still looking for New Year’s Eve Plans? On Saturday the 31st, the Holiday House will have a special ticketed event for New Year’s Eve! This event is a multi-room event throughout The Maverick Hotel and Holiday House pop-up with two bars, DJs, and more. Ticket options include general admission and VIP experiences. The general admission ticket is $20 and gets you access to the fully stocked lobby cocktail bar and Gymnasium dance floor starting at 9 pm. Single VIP ticket sales have ended, but there are still several opportunities for group VIP experiences. All VIP experiences include early access to the Holiday House’s New Year’s Eve party at 8 pm, an hour before general admission entry. For a group of six, the Gymnasium Table package is perfect! For $300, your group will have a table in the Gymnasium where all of the lights, dancing, and festivities will be occurring. At the table, you will get a choice of a champagne toast for 6 or a 6-pack of Personal Day seltzers from Maggie’s Rum Farm. If you have even more friends joining the party, consider the Chandelier Room package! This package is for up to 10 people and costs $1000. With this VIP experience, your group will have a semi-private lounge area in the Holiday House bar itself. The Chandelier Room package also includes a champagne toast, Personal Day seltzers from Maggie’s Rum Farm, and small bites. This party will go well beyond the stroke of midnight with all attendees having access to the event until 2 am.

Another unique opportunity for New Year’s Eve comes from this party being in a pop up bar, event space, and hotel! The Hotel Package is perfect for couples ringing in the new year! For $205, this package comes with entry for two to the New Year’s Eve party as well as a queen room for two at The Maverick the night of the party. This is a great way to celebrate 2023 with a loved one!
There are only a few opportunities to take advantage of this pop up bar at The Maverick Hotel, so plan accordingly. Call up your friends and make plans for drinks this Thursday or Friday, or get your crew together to ring in the new year at the Holiday House! All New Year’s Eve package information can be found here.
