Prepare for an amazing night of music–the “Women Who Rock” benefit concert is back for another awesome show. The epic event takes place on May 30th, showcasing all female-fronted musical acts, along with magnificent local vendors raising awareness for women’s health research, all the while helping to empower women in music. Founder Melinda Colaizzi brings the all ages show to a larger venue this year at Stage AE, which promises to be the best concert yet. Roll out the pink carpet. Here are the top things not to miss!
Grrrl-Power
This year’s lineup is stacked, with the one and only Sheila E headlining the show. The awe-inspiring earth shattering drummer brings an intense performance during every gig. She’s played with some of the world’s most famous musicians, including Prince on the “Purple Rain” tour. Yeah, let that sink in. Sheila E is a world renown talent and unstoppable force on the drums, bringing her artistry to a wide range of instruments. To put it simply: she’s going to bring the house down. There’s also a spectacular lineup of Pittsburgh artists ready to rock the stage: Lyndsey Smith, Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus, DJ Jess, and Rising Star Contest Winner Melina Bowser. Who run the world?
Beauty Bar & Rock Auction
All general admission and VIP tickets include free access to the beauty bar. The party kicks off early at the VIP Happy Hour Lounge, presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The ticket includes complimentary apps, signature vodka cocktails, gift bags, and celeb appearances. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this one!
Pink Carpet & Photo Booth

Women Who Rock Award
Each year the award goes to one outstanding woman making a difference in her community. This year’s recipient will be presented to Dr. Sharon Hillier. According to WomenWhoRockPgh.com, Hillier is “an internationally recognized biologist, whose work influenced an entire field of research based on the intersection of women’s health and HIV prevention.” WTAE news anchor Kelly Frey, who was last year’s recipient, will present the award. Michele Michaels of 102.5 WDVE is back again to emcee the show.
