Since 2010, Small Business Saturday has been a huge annual shopping day for those of us who love to shop locally. As a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this day, which is observed the Saturday after Thanksgiving, is a day to support the locally-owned businesses that are a core part of our community (and start gathering gifts you plan to give this holiday season). To celebrate, several Small Business Saturday events are popping up where you can shop local vendors and show our community of small businesses some love!

Trax Farms Small Business Saturday

Trax Farms is hosting a Small Business Saturday at its Finleyville farm shop, which is so much more than a simple farm stand – you can shop produce of course, along with home goods, live plants and supplies, grocery and deli items, baked goods, and even beer, wine, and cider. On 11/26, every $20 you spend in the store earns you a raffle ticket for a chance to win a basket full of some of Trax’s farm favorites, which you can give as a mindblowing gift or enjoy as a thank-you for shopping local!

The Black Label Market

The Black Label is a “luxury shopping experience featuring fashion & beauty small businesses from Pittsburgh & the surrounding area,” so if you’ve got some bougie besties on your holiday gifting list this year, you’re not going to want to miss this event, which is popping up at the Hotel Indigo in East Liberty. As a curated retail experience, you’ll be able to shop the best of the best local makers who evoke luxury in all their products!

Nineteen North Farmers Market & Vendor Fair

Washington-based event venue Nineteen North is hosting a Farmer’s Market and Vendor fair at its beautiful space to celebrate Small Business Saturday, and this definitely has a party vibe! An official stop of Washington’s annual breakfast crawl, the event will feature a Bloody Mary and mimosa bar along with craft food and drink specials, and of course plenty of local vendors with just the right gifts for everyone on your list.

Small Business Saturday: Gear Repair with Patagonia

3 Rivers Outdoor Co. is partnering with Pittsburgh’s locally-owned Patagonia store for a Small Business Saturday event with an extra splash of sustainability! Stop by 3 Rivers’ Regent Square storefront to shop new and used outdoor gear and other adventurous goods, and while you browse, Patagonia is offering repairs to small gear (for both Patagonia apparel and other brands) to help keep more goods in your closet and out of the landfill. That’s some shopping you can feel great about!

Shop Small Saturday Craft & Vendor Show

Butler’s chapter of the Sons and Daughters of Italy is hosting a Small Business Saturday craft and vendor show from 10 am to 4 pm before Butler’s annual Main Street parade. We can’t think of a better way to get into the holiday spirit than to do a little shopping, grab some delicious homemade food and a warm beverage and then stick around to see the parade!

Bonus: Holiday Mini-Market at Still Mill Distillery

The week after Small Business Saturday on 12/3, family-owned distillery Still Mill Distillery will host its second annual Holiday Mini-Market in its Swissvale tasting room. Local vendors will be on hand with perfectly giftable items such as jewelry, art, clothing, and even fossils (yes, for real!) and so much more. Plus, you can sip Still Mill’s craft cocktails while you shop and take home a bottle of their locally-sourced liquors, including their newest “Mexican Coffee” liqueur made with Rockin’ Cat coffee.
