Spring is here, the temps are warming up, and people want to go outside again! Oh, how good it feels. With that being said, the events in April feature some outdoor activities! We have Food trucks, Sip Away Tax Day, local craft shows, and dog friendly events!
PGH Vintage Mixer, April 6th
8:30-10am Early bird shopping | 10am-5pm | Teamsters Hall Local 249 Butler Street
Feeling crafty? You can satisfy all of your craft cravings at the PGH Vintage Mixer. There’s over 35 local and regional vintage sellers, including food, drinks, coffee, wine, and beer. Portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Porphyria Foundation. You can shop early for $15. The door is $5. Kids under 12 are free.
Food Truck Rally, April 6th
3pm-8pm | VooDoo Brewery Homestead
Attention food truck lovers! The Food Truck Rally at the VooDoo Brewery in Homestead is back for another round. The list of confirmed trucks include Blue Sparrow, Franctuary, PGH Sandwich Society, Oakmont BBQ, Doce Taqueria, and Millie’s. Part of the proceeds benefit the local community kitchen in Homestead. The event is free and dogs are welcome!
Sip Away Tax Day, April 13
2pm-6pm
Celebrate the end of tax season with Sip Away Tax Day. It’s all in the title: 40 vendors of craft beer, wine, whiskey, and live music. And the cool thing about it? The event is held at the home of the Washington Wild Things! Now that’s a home run! Designated drivers and under 21 are free. The first 750 registered include a souvenir tasting glass. Day of event tickets $35.
Record Store Day, April 13th
Local record stores will be filled with music fanatics trying to score a limited edition release from their favorite band. This event always features rare records for sale, and only available that day. Check out local stores like Dave’s Music Mine, Get Hip, and Jerry’s– just to name a few. Get in line early!
Taste of Lawrenceville, April 14th
12pm-5pm
Come out and see what Lawrenceville has to offer! You can check out the entire neighborhood of breweries and restaurants, complete with live music and kids activities. And wait for it..there’s going to be a Game of Thrones pop up bar. It’s free!
Third Thursday: Step and Repeat April 18
8pm-11pm | Carnegie Museum of Art
This event has a little bit of everything–make some art by creating a pattern and bandanas, dance to the DJ, snap pics in the photo booth, and check out the museum. Cruel Intentions, April 21st

Take a trip back to the 90’s for this super rad musical. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents Cruel Intentions, which is based off of the cult film starring Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Made and Found Spring Market, April 21

Spring has sprung! And the Made and Found Spring Market is the perfect way to bring in the new season. The Ace Hotel will be filled with over 25 vintage shops, makers and artists. There’s brunch, coffee and cocktails too. It won’t cost you anything to attend!
ISDA Fashion Show Luncheon, April 28th
Wyndham Grand Hotel Ballroom
The ISDA Fashion Show features Pittsburgh Celebs walking the runway for a good cause. It’s the 57th year for the acclaimed event, which will be held at the Wyndham Grand Hotel Ballroom. The proceeds benefit a Kennywood trip for 600 local challenged children and caretakers. Runway tickets $50, for tickets call (412) 261-3550.
Wags and Whiskey April 28

Did you ever have a serious guilt trip when you went somewhere and had to leave your pet at home? We have too! But no need to worry here. You can bring your dog– and also enjoy some excellent whiskey at the same time! Portion of the sales goes to helping homeless animals find homes.
