Truffles, turtles, chocolate-covered caramels and fudge… This time of the year, handmade chocolates and candies are flying off the shelves in grocery stores and specialty shops all over the city, destined for holiday dinners, ornate stockings, and Secret Santa swaps.

If you’re running around trying to find the last few sweets for your friends and family this week, we recommend checking out these eight local chocolate and candy shops for all the tasty treats you need to make this holiday season extra special!

The Chocolate Moose

The Chocolate Moose has a little something for everyone in their Squirrel Hill shop: decadent treats, handmade chocolates, and even nostalgic classic candies from decades past. Their gourmet truffles, artisan chocolates and bars are available individually or as part of their holiday gift sets, and you can even order beautifully-wrapped baskets ready for easy gifting!

The Milk Shake Factory

The Milk Shake Factory doesn’t just make milkshakes: they’re also a gourmet chocolate purveyor too! Their chocolate menu is substantial and well-curated, and the convenience of the local chain’s multiple locations around the city makes it easy for you to cross the gift of chocolate off your shopping list. Try their stroopwafels and their collab with local distiller Wigle Whiskey!

Sinful Sweets

With treats like gourmet chocolates, edible cookie and brownie doughs, rich fudges, and even fresh baked goods, Sinful Sweets is an all-in-one destination for snagging some guilty pleasures – for your loved ones and yourself! Visit their classic downtown storefront or their location at Ross Park Mall to shop their devilishly delicious delights.

Copper Coast Confections

Previously known as Chocolate Fusion Candy, Lawrenceville-based chocolate shop Copper Coast Confections is about to expand in a big way. It’s no wonder why – just take a look at their stunning, brightly-colored artisan truffles! Along with other classic treats, you can choose from a selection of flavor collections like Coffeehouse, Dessert, and Classic, or you can build your own box for a custom gift.

A519 Chocolate

Launched by chef Amanda Wright, A519 Chocolate’s artisan jewel-like truffles are almost too pretty to eat – but don’t let that stop you! Her signature collection of eye-catching chocolates are available in sets of two, nine, and 15, but another quality, memorable gift offered by her shop are her interactive chocolate and confection classes.

Mon Aimee Chocolat

Mon Aimee Chocolat has served the Strip District for almost two decades, offering a well-curated selection of handmade chocolates from all across the region. In addition to showcasing many smaller, independently-owned brands, Mon Aimee Chocolat also produces its own confections and conveniently sells many of its delights by the scoop, piece or pound.

Pollak’s Candies

Pollak’s Candies is a family-owned sweet shop that has been in business for more than 70 years, and if you’re looking for some classic, timeless treats that all generations will enjoy, make a stop at Pollak’s. They offer gift boxes with classic collections or custom, build-your-own boxes along with additional sweet (and sour!) candies and nostalgic novelty candies.

Fudge Farm

Known for their mind-boggling, gravity-defying milkshakes, Fudge Farm’s handmade chocolate and fudge selections are equally impressive. You can order online or stop into one of their two locations (because who doesn’t want to enjoy their signature swings?) to shop their selection of fudge, chocolate-covered marshmallows and pretzels, and even candy apples.
