We love all food, but let’s be real: there’s a special place in our hearts for pizza. And with all the new restaurants being rounded up for 2018, we thought we’d throw in a list dedicated exclusively to the good stuff (you know, for balance). In no particular order, here are our current favorite pizza shops in Pittsburgh.
Pizza Taglio

This Roman inspired, BYOB pizzeria is truly one of a kind. (Did we mention how much we love BYOB?) Taglio has so much to offer, from a cozy atmosphere to amazing handmade pizzas and other delicious menu items, like creamy homemade ricotta. Hold up, we aren’t done yet – Taglio offers secret menu items as well, like their thin and crispy pizza topped with different fresh ingredients, like wood-fired onions, rosemary, hot sausage and more! This is just the beginning for Taglio.
Ironborn

Here is where you’ll find Detroit style pizza in our own backyard. Ironborn, without doubt, is one of the most unique pizzerias in the area, and we are better people because of them. Vegan? That’s okay! They can hook you up with a vegan pie. Carnivore? Well, they will definitely have you covered there, too!
Dianoias
[relevant url=”https://www.dianoiaseatery.com/” map=”https://www.google.com/maps?q=dianoias&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi4xPO8s5nYAhXhTN8KHQRcCWYQ_AUIDCgD”] Dianoias in the Strip District might not be strictly a pizza joint, but their pies are definitely worth talking about. With a bright and family oriented vibe, here is where you’ll want toenjoy Sunday brunch, lunch and dinner. Yes, they even have a brunch pizza which rotates every Sunday!
Spak Brothers
[relevant url=”https://www.spakbrothers.com/” map=”https://www.google.com/maps?q=spak+brothers&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi5kuLUs5nYAhWGON8KHYa9As0Q_AUICigB”]Spak Brothers pizza is the perfect place to grab a slice for yourself, or a whole pie to share. Located on Penn Avenue, this pizzeria is serving up delicious pizza and much, much more. They want everyone to enjoy their great tasting food, and now offer a vegan pizza! Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.
Fioris
[relevant url=”http:/www.fiorispizzaria.com//” map=”https://www.google.com/maps?q=fioris&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjik5jtspnYAhWBSd8KHar6BusQ_AUICigB”]Just outside the Liberty Tubes is where you’ll find the deliciousness that is Fioris. Fioris is another favorite for Pittsburgh locals. Their pie is down right scrumptious and their crust is INSANE. Whether it’s for dinner or a late night munchie sesh, their pizza won’t disappoint. This pie is as sweet as Pittsburgh.
Pizzaiolo Primo
[relevant url=”http://www.pizzaioloprimo.com/” map=”https://www.google.com/maps?q=pizzaiolo+primo&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj_qtGHtJnYAhUHUd8KHa4XCg0Q_AUICigB”]Here is where one can indulge on Neapolitan style pizzas straight from the brick oven. Pizzaiolo Primo, found in the hustle and bustle of Market Square, is one of a kind. The atmosphere is cozy yet sophisticated. We love their pizzas for their delicious crust and authentic ingredients. Primo also takes it to a whole new level with their mobile pizza oven! How sweet is that? You can find where they are located each day on their website.
Betos
[relevant url=”http://www.betosoriginalpizza.com//” map=https://www.google.com/maps?q=betos&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwji3LCjtJnYAhVimuAKHeGSAqEQ_AUICigB””]Betos is the kind of place that breaks all the rules and we love them for it. Here you don’t pay by the pie, but instead by the piece. It’s what these huge slices consist of that makes them so unique. Betos serves their hot pizza with cold toppings. We know! It sounds crazy, but trust us when we tell you their pizza is top notch!
Aiellos
[relevant url=”http://www.aiellospizzeriallc.com” map=”https://www.google.com/maps?q=aiello%27s+pizza&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiWwem1tJnYAhWBkeAKHRWcACcQ_AUICigB”]Cooking with love is Aiellos’ specialty. This pizzeria has been around the block once or twice. From basic red and white pizzas, to gourmet pierogi pies, they have it all! Aiellos puts thought and love into every slice. The proof is in the pizza.
Mineos
[relevant url=”http://www.bigdogcoffee.net/” map=”https://www.google.com/maps?q=mineos&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi9_u3UspnYAhWpUN8KHcdyAWgQ_AUICigB”]Mineos has been a fan favorite since the day their doors opened. With two locations, one on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill and the other in the heart of Uptown Mount Lebanon, regulars and newcomers will find cheesy goodness in every bite. More importantly, Mineos has answered our prayers and now offers gluten free pizza! Oh and one more thing… They can Fedex anywhere in the US! Now you have no excuse not to enjoy their pizza![join]What do you think about these spots? Do you plan on going to any of them? Let us know with a comment here.
