There’s no doubt that Pittsburgh is hitting it’s stride when it comes to great coffee. Step outside your apartment and it’s easy to venture to a dope spot for your morning cortado. The Strip is home to a ton of these (have you checked out De Fer Coffee and Tea?), but you can’t forget about one of the key Pittsburgh caffeine mainstays: Allegheny Coffee and Tea Exchange.
What used to be Fortune’s Coffee, this place has been around for 50 years and offers everything you can imagine – over 100 small batch, in-house roasted coffees, an entire wall of tea choices (our favorite is Charleston Tea Plantation), and some sick accessories for home brewing. Plus, their crew of baristas and roasters are some of the coolest, most talented coffee afficionados around.
Tip: Don’t miss out on their extensive menu of specialty nitro draft coffees – it’s best to grab a growler, trust us.
