Pittsburghers are well aware of all the incomparable assets this city has to offer. Food, art, industry, you name it.

Well it’s time to tack on another item to the expansive list of boast-worthy attributes. Pittsburgh is now officially home to the greenest office building in the world. You heard us right. After five years of construction, PNC’s new Downtown Pittsburgh headquarters, a $400 million glass tower, now tops the global list of environmentally friendly offices.

Green as can be

PNC Tower Pittsburgh

The Tower at PNC Plaza is the company’s new headquarters. And this skyscraper was designed to ooze green from the ground up. From a water recycling system that collects and reuses rainwater (and we sure get our fair share of precipitation) to solar powered ventilation and even the minute details of hand dryers in the bathrooms-the building is seriously ecologically advanced.

If you’re not one of the 2,200 PNC employees who will be moving in over the next few months, stop by to take in sweeping views of all three rivers from the 28th floor and to check out The Beacon, a massive LED lit color-changing installation in the lobby. Color us impressed!
