Well, would you look at that? The spotlight is once again on the Steel City. Are you even surprised? This time, the limelight comes in the shape of the New York Times’ coveted “36 Hours” column.

If you’re unfamiliar with the premise of this travel section staple, the title “36 Hours in Pittsburgh” is pretty indicative of what you can expect. Times writer Brendan Spiegal lays out a complete plan of how to spend 36 hours in the Burgh in order to make the most of your time.

Not again!

At this point you may be thinking, yeah yeah, we don’t need another guide telling us to go feast on Primanti’s or gaze upon art at the Andy Warhol museum. But hold your horses! Spiegal takes note of quite a few Pittsburgh spots that even natives of the city may not have visited before.

Spiegal writes, “While the revitalization of downtown Pittsburgh has earned lots of attention, lately much of the action is found farther out, in once-overlooked neighborhoods like Lawrenceville and East Liberty.” Fans of these neighborhoods will praise Spiegal for the well-deserved shout-out, but those who haven’t explored these areas of PGH may be interested in reading about such additions to the articles’ itinerary as Arsenal Cider House and the Grapperia.

The schedule also highlights interesting local attractions like the unique bicycle museum Bicycle Heaven, and House Poem, one of four houses turned public art projects.

Even for locals, the article serves as a roadmap for one killer long weekend in your hometown! Staycation anyone?
