Are you ready to rock n’ roll n’ sip through the best of the best wines in Pittsburgh? We’ll let you decide in the comments below, but it’s time to take a field trip to regional wineries that have been leveling up their game over the years.
Sippin’ summertime happiness is flowing strong just outside of Pittsburgh. Here are [just] a few wineries to check out and cool off during this warm-weather season.
Black Dog Wine Company
This summer, travel out to Oakdale to visit Black Dog Wine Company’s main winery in a picturesque setting that is as easy to sip in — and even rent a private cabana! The winery is always up for new interactive activities, so play along during trivia nights on Wednesdays, live music on the weekends from 2pm – 5pm, and more can’t-miss happenings.
Black Dog Wine Company offers red, white, blush, rosé, fruit, dessert, and seasonal wines. Perhaps try a bubbly twist on a rosé – the Bubbly Baron, a semi-sweet sparkling rosé!
Narcisi Winery and Restaurant
Treat yourself to a classic, no-brainer — Narcisi Winery located in Gibsonia. With live music on the regular, a full-service fine dining restaurant, an outside bar, and a dreamscape lush lawn accompanied by a babbling creek, enjoy sipping here all summer long in bliss.
Some famous wine staples include Cabernet Sauvignon, Peach, Rosabella, Chardonnay, and Niagra. It has plenty to taste test and even has a great cornerstone of keepsakes to find that perfect, wine-lover gift. Also, they serve their acclaimed wine slushies, too, so don’t miss out for your tastebuds’ sake!
Bygone Wines
Located in Plum, Bygone Wines prides itself on producing semi-dry organic fruit wines that are additive free. Sit and relax at their café and try one-of-a-kind creations that are proudly sulfite-free, which in turn, help others with complex medical issues able to enjoy wines that won’t mess with their bodies.
Sulfites can include potassium metabisulfite, potassium sorbate, sodium metabisulfite, and other unnecessary adds in the wine-making process such as concentrated flavoring, dyes, or excessive added sugars. The owners of this wine haven pride themselves on using organic and local ingredients, whenever possible!
