Halloween enthusiasts, there’s a new pop-up bar downtown that will make your blood run cold. Nightmare on Forbes is bringing spooky, scary, and downright creepy vibes to the city. The themed pop-up bar is open daily at 4 p.m. at 268 Forbes Ave.
The Freddy Krueger-inspired haunt is decorated with everything from skeletons to spiderwebs to blood — the Halloween trifecta. This house of horrors offers custom cocktails like The Krueger and Pumpkin Head if you’re brave enough to try them.
They’ll be mixing drinks until 2 a.m. on the weekends with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Nightmare on Forbes is also hosting a Trivia Happy Hour every Wednesday.
Nightmare on Forbes is raising money for a local organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. BBBSPGH matches volunteers and children from single-parent families or low-income homes for youth mentoring. Previous fundraising pop-ups have included a Jingle Bar around the holidays, and a “Bar of Thrones.”
These pop-up events always draw a big crowd, so if you’re hoping to get your Halloween spirit on minus crowds, consider attending the member-only Pittsburgh Young Professionals (PYP) event, sponsored by Robert Morris University, on Wednesday, October 23. PYP has the space reserved from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with happy hour specials and light bites.
Nightmare on Forbes is open through November 2.
