Well, new-er, anyway. We don’t know about you, but we like to maintain a well-stocked beer fridge. And it’s always nice to add something new to the rotation! So order your beer – and maybe some takeout – and let’s get going.
Old Thunder Brewing
Old Thunder, nestled in Blawnox, brewer-owned and brewer-operated. They want their brewery to be a place where ideas are shared and relationships are formed, where everyone feels welcome in their diverse community. You’ll find the highest quality lagers and ales, strong beers, and mixed fermentation recipes. Orders must be placed online and picked up Friday through Sunday. Check their website for current policies and can choices.
Trace Brewing
You might be like, wait, didn’t we just read about Trace Brewing? And you’re right, you did here. But we couldn’t leave them off our new breweries list! They recently opened in Bloomfield and are currently offering to-go beer sales only. We also have to mention their coming-soon cafe menu, with all of our favorite coffee drinks. And if you’re interested in becoming a professional brewer, you can apply for their Vocational Program – a 6-month paid program where you’ll gain experience in all areas of the brewing process. Pretty cool!
Mastic Trail Brewing
Located in Glenshaw, Mastic Trail is Pittsburgh’s Caribbean brewpub. The Mastic Trail, the brewpub’s namesake, is a nature walk on the island of Grand Cayman. So going to the brewpub is basically like going on a little staycation! Their menu is full of seafood and Caribbean flavors. And their beers are appropriately named after beaches, places, and animals – like Bermuda Triangle Hazy IPA and St. Croix Vanilla Coconut Stout (which sounds interesting and delicious!)
