If you’ve ever driven through Aspinwall, you’ve probably noticed Cornerstone, an upscale American restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating and a comfortable atmosphere. It’s a place where people enjoy coming to relax with friends and family while enjoying great food. Cornerstone has always been a favorite eatery in Aspinwall, but the location and covered outdoor seating are especially nice this summer as we social distance while supporting local businesses.
Cornerstone opened in 2009 and has become a favorite among residents of Aspinwall, Fox Chapel, Sharpsburg, and even Highland Park. The summer menu includes classics like mussels and flatbread pizza, as well as salmon, lamb, swordfish and crab cakes. Cornerstone also offers a variety of tacos, sandwiches and burgers.
This is a great brunch spot! Try one of seven summer brunch cocktails. Some of their brunch offerings include a frittata, truffle omelet, and Cornerstone scramble. They also have classic pancakes, stuffed french toast, and a skillet apple waffle.
Conveniently located across the street from Cornerstone is the Aspinwall Riverfront Park. You can order your meal to go and enjoy a picnic overlooking the Allegheny River. The park welcome center has a lot of covered seating areas and tables that you can use as long as a wedding or formal event isn’t happening at that time.
And to make social distancing easier, Cornerstone has made some additions to their menu. Right now, they’re offering a beer and wine to-go menu. Order draft beer or mix and match bottle beer, as well as wine by the bottle.
On Tuesday nights, you can have meals from Cornerstone delivered to your door with no delivery charge. And on Sunday, try the Sunday Drive Up BBQ. You can choose from different rib, chicken, brisket, and pulled pork meat options, sides, sandwiches, and mason jar cocktails.
Cornerstone is opening on August 18 following a short break. Make a reservation on OpenTable, order online, or call to order.
