Fall might be just around the corner, but before it’s time to trade in our swimsuits for cozy sweaters, we can still soak up some sunshine and summertime vibes when we enjoy a nice meal and some refreshing beverages outdoors! All across the city, there are tons of spots where you can enjoy patio or rooftop seating while you chow down on locally-sourced cuisine and sip on handcrafted drinks, but we’ve picked out a few of our favorite spots that are a must during the dog days of summer for dining outdoors:

Alihan’s Mediterranean Cuisine

Downtown

Conveniently located in the heart of the city, Alihan’s Mediterranean Cuisine offers the perfect combination of great food and cozy outdoor seating on breezy 6th Street. While this unique Downtown spot offers delicious meals from many Mediterranean cuisines, Turkish food is definitely the star of the menu. Their biggest hits feature fresh ingredients alongside the tradition and flavors of the Mediterranean!

Coughlin’s Law

Mount Washington

You can’t beat this view of the ‘Burgh! Mount Washington favorite Coughlin’s Law features a seasonal menu with a twist on classic gastropub favorites including burgers, pub steaks and salads alongside 43 beers on tap and craft cocktails. They have three different outdoor patios, including the back patio with stunning views of Downtown Pittsburgh. Don’t miss out on their front patio either, which provides views of the bustling Mount Washington neighborhood and the shops of Shiloh Street.

Cioppino

Strip District

Calling all dog lovers! Bring your darling pups down to Cioppino’s in the heart of the Strip District, where you and your crew (whether they’re on four legs or two!) can enjoy city views just off Cioppino’s signature lounge and bar area. On the patio, you can order from this neighborhood spot’s legendary full menu and sip from their cocktail program that features PA-made libations.

Pizzaiolo Primo

Market Square

Market Square is the perfect spot for enjoying a great view of the city and all that it has to offer, and Pizzaiolo Primo is the prime dinner spot for enjoying all your favorites: live music, people watching, and special moments with loved ones! Pizzaiolo Primo’s culinary team whips up beautiful features every weekend (check Facebook for what’s on!) and an array of their ingredients are made in-house, from fresh pasta to mozzarella. The focal point of the restaurant is its beautiful wood-fired pizza oven, which was made in Italy and flown over and assembled here in the ‘Burgh. It cooks pizzas around 1000 degrees so pizzas are done in about 3 minutes!

The Foundry Table & Tap

North Shore

North Shore favorite the Foundry features farm-fresh local and seasonal ingredients, as well as an extensive selection of rotating craft brews and creative cocktails. During warmer months, visitors who are pregaming their favorite North Shore sports teams or a concert along the river can enjoy the river-side patio with unsurpassed views of the Allegheny River and Downtown skyline. Whether it’s date night, weekend brunch, or even a private event, the Foundry is sure to please!
