The WYEP Summer Music Festival is back at Schenley Plaza on Saturday, June 29th! The annual festival brings a solid lineup of acts.
Better yet, the all-ages show is free. Here’s a preview of the bands!
The WYEP Summer Music Festival Lineup!
Middle Kids
The Australian three-piece band, Middle Kids, will bring their incredible indie rock songs to the fest. Their third album, “Faith Crisis Part 1,” was released earlier this year. The LP features the upbeat single “Dramamine.” Let’s hope they do “Edge of Town,” which has an amazing guitar lead.
Oh He Dead
The DC based rock ‘n soul band just released their new single, “Strange Love.” Check out other soulful tunes like “Lightning Drunk” and “Is It My Love.” Along with “California,” which has a great vibe for a summer festival.
Jade Bird
Singer songwriter Jade Bird had a breakthrough year back in 2019 with her self-titled LP, which featured singles “Uh Huh” and “Lottery.” Her mix of alt rock melodies and introspective lyrics make for a powerful experience. Originally from England, she’s made a name for herself in the alt rock world. She might play some material from her 2023 EP, “Burn the Hard Drive.”
Ames Harding & The Mirage
The Pittsburgh based four-piece band has “tricky rhythms and sensual lyrics.” Their songs will sound awesome live. “Lately, WYEP listeners have been hearing the striking and catchy “The Governor’s Dead.””
Chariot Fade
Get ready for some pop dance disco. “Make Yours Like Mine” is a fun song that will have everyone going to the dance floor, or actually, the Schenley lawn. The song samples McFadden & Whitehead’s hit “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now.”
Mani Bahia
Mani Bahia is an “artist, musician, DJ, producer, singer-songwriter, performer, from Pittsburgh.” Her songs have a great groove. Check out her 2022 song, “Inferno.” Her song “Fisher” has been featured on WYEP. It’s a “moody R&B slow burner.”
