This past weekend, Bubbles & Brunch PGH hosted their fourth 3-course brunch experience with bubbly pairings at Garbarino’s Restaurant in East Liberty. The brunch theme? Welcome to America: Pride Edition, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the O’Noir Foundation – an organization that raises funds and assists homeless, displaced and underprivileged LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults.

The event is hosted by Sidney Sokolof (@TheRestaurantBrokerPGH) & Camila Alarcon-Chelecki (@Camila.Uncorked) – who make the perfect team. Sidney is a restaurant expert with Specialty Group, and Camila should be referred to as the Queen of the Bubbly, with her extensive knowledge on all things sparkling wine and champagne.

The brunch started off with a large cinnamon roll and drink specials while you found your seats. Shortly after the beginning of the event we were entertained with a performance by drag queen, Miss V, who definitely kept the crowd entertained as the courses were being served and bubbly was being poured.

The first course was Garbarino’s take on the McGriddle Sandwich paired with Gruet Brut. This course was delicious, with the perfect mixture of sweet and savory. Then the second course included Southern Biscuits and Sausage with Wilted Spinach served with Chandon Blanc de Pinot Noir. The Chandon Blanc de Pinot Noir was my personal favorite of the day. I appreciated that the bubbly pairings were options available at local spirit and wine stores, and they were at reasonable prices, too. The Chandon Blanc de Pinot Noir retails around $20 a bottle.

After the second course we were once again blessed by a performance by Miss V – and a fabulous leopard outfit change. As she performed we were served our final course, Miniature Pecan Pies from Harrison’s Fine Pastries, matched up with Domaine Carneros.

Be sure to follow Bubble & Brunch PGH for updates on their next brunch event. Tickets are typically $65 and include your 3-course meal, as well as the three bubbly pairings. Additional drink specials are available as well.
