Football in Pittsburgh doesn’t start on Sundays.
It starts in backyards. On neighborhood fields. At parks where kids are learning how to throw their first spiral, run their first route, or just figure out what position they might be one day.
And every summer, the Pittsburgh Steelers help turn that early love for the game into something real.

The Steelers Youth Football Camps are back for 2026—bringing a two-day, high-energy football experience for boys and girls ages 6-14 across Western PA (and just beyond). It’s non-contact, it’s all about learning, and yes—it’s built to be fun from the first whistle to the last flag football game.
Two days. All football. No pressure, just progress.

Day one is all about getting hands-on with the game. Campers rotate through eight position stations—QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, DB, and special teams—learning the basics from some of the best high school coaches in the region (the Steelers’ “Coach of the Week” group), with help from current and former Steelers players who jump in throughout the day.
Day two turns it up a notch. Morning team drills, then right into NFL Flag Football games where kids get to actually play and put everything together in real time.
And through it all, 4-6 Steelers players are on site each day coaching, encouraging, signing autographs, and just being part of the experience.
More than football
One of the most special parts of camp isn’t even the drills.

It’s when Steelers players take time to talk to the kids about life—about sticking with it when things get hard, about confidence, about showing up for your team and yourself. Those moments tend to stick long after the camp shirts get outgrown.

Why it matters here

There are a lot of youth camps out there but this one feels different because it’s rooted right here.
The coaches are local. The players show up. The lessons go beyond the field. And the whole thing is built around giving kids a real shot to fall in love with the game.
Campers aren’t just thrown into drills—they’re grouped by age, guided through every station, and given space to learn at their own pace. Then on day two, they get to bring it all together in game play that feels like football should feel at that age—fast, fun, and a little bit competitive.
Pittsburgh football has always been about more than football.
It’s about community, passing the game down, and showing the next generation what it means to work, compete, and show up for something bigger than yourself.
And for a lot of kids, this is where that starts.
