It’s gonna be a beautiful red-letter, red-sweater day in the neighborhood when WQED celebrates “Cardigan Day” on Wednesday, November 13.

November 13th is Kindness Day, and you can share kindness simply by wearing a cardigan just like that pre-eminent kind soul Mr. Fred Rogers.

Do not panic if you don’t own a red cardigan. “Be kind and carry on” by wearing whichever color cardigan you already own. Blue? Perfect. Striped? Awesome. Missing a button? No worries!

This wear & share campaign is a cozy expression of kindness, and it’s super easy to participate.

  1. Wear your cardigan.
  2. Share it with the world on social media via #CardiganDay
  3. Feel the world fill-up with kindness.

Naturally, kindness is best when done in groups, so tell everyone you know that November 13 is a special day to celebrate kindness, express your innate love of Fred Rogers, and stay warm all by simply donning your favorite cardigan.

To get “all the feels” be sure to head over to Oakland between 8a-2p to join in WQED’s official celebration. There will be warm drinks, kindness activities, an interactive, mixed-media portrait of “Mister Rogers: Just the Way You Are”, and an “Ultimate Mister Rogers selfie station”. Parking is free (how kind!).
