The color purple holds a special power. Just ask any of the 350+ guests who attended last year’s sold out inaugural The Purple Party, a gala-style party celebrating sobriety.
Where dreams become reality…
This year’s The Purple Party theme is “Purple Dream,” a whimsical take on purple. It represents the hopes and dreams of those in recovery. The second annual event is taking place to raise funds and support POWER’s (Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery) work in recovery.
During the event, three esteemed POWER Alumni will be honored and showcased in the Purple Portraits Gallery. Also, the Seeds of Hope Award will be presented. This year’s Seeds of Hope Award recipient, the Union Baptist Church of Swissvale, has been offering friendship and support to the women of POWER, embracing them as members of their community and assisting the organization for more than 10 years.
Food + Drink
The event will have a sumptuous spread of food from Bistro to Go, custom mocktails and a gourmet coffee bar from Square Cafe, and also purple-themed desserts.
Live Music Performances
The Purple Party will feature DJ Femi, followed by a special pop-up performance by Pittsburgh-native (proud recovery community member) and national recording artist, Colicchie. The evening will also be emceed by local personality Marta Napoleone Mazzoni.
Walk the Purple Carpet + More
All guests are welcome to walk the purple carpet in their finest purple attire! Then, relax with friends in the Recovery Garden and enjoy a Silent Auction & Raffle that features over 50 items.
Eat Dessert First at the VIPurple Reception
New for this year is a VIPurple reception where VIP guests will enjoy a lavish dessert reception with treats from Le Cupcake Shop. Also, sip on specialty mocktails and taste artful charcuterie by Nosh and Curd. In addition, enjoy a lively performance by eclectic pop violinist Steven Vance.
For Everyone Who Believes in the POWER of Recovery
The Purple Party welcomes the sober curious, sober celebrating, and everyone that supports the recovery community. “The sober and sober curious communities have so much to celebrate and the Purple Party has become a positive platform for that,” said POWER CEO, Rosa Davis.
“Addiction is a serious illness that wreaks havoc on individuals, families, and communities. Yet, recovery is possible. It’s estimated that over 20 million Americans are living in recovery and that’s always worth celebrating.”
POWER CEO, Rosa Davis
