Yoga is an excellent way to exercise while also calming your mind, and it’s even better when it’s done in the great outdoors. There are several different yoga events coming up in our area that will take you out of the studio, so grab your mat and get ready to say your “Oms” outside this summer!
Yoga in Allegheny Commons Park
Are you looking for a weekly outdoor yoga class in the city? The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh has partnered with some of Pittsburgh’s top studios to offer Yoga in Allegheny Commons Park. Starting on Memorial Day Weekend, this event is offered every Saturday at 10:30AM throughout the summer and is completely free to attend! There will be a different teacher each week from studios like Yoga Hive, Inhale Pittsburgh, and Urban Elements. Allegheny Commons Park, located in the North Side, was recently revamped and now includes a new fountain. Some of the events will have refreshments available for purchase, such as the Main Squeeze Juice Truck.
Summer Outdoor Yoga
Enjoy the calming sights and sounds of the water while you practice yoga each week. Summer Outdoor Yoga at the Aspinwall Riverfront Park is another event that will take place all summer long with different teachers each week. This series starts on June 2nd, with classes offered at 11AM every Sunday. The event’s host is Yoga Flow, a studio located in Aspinwall across the street from the park. In the event of inclement weather, the class will get moved to an enclosed area near the dock. Summer Outdoor Yoga costs $5 in cash to attend.
