Yoga is an excellent way to exercise while also calming your mind, and it’s even better when it’s done in the great outdoors. There are several different yoga events coming up in our area that will take you out of the studio, so grab your mat and get ready to say your “Oms” outside this summer!

Yoga in Allegheny Commons Park

Are you looking for a weekly outdoor yoga class in the city? The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh has partnered with some of Pittsburgh’s top studios to offer Yoga in Allegheny Commons Park. Starting on Memorial Day Weekend, this event is offered every Saturday at 10:30AM throughout the summer and is completely free to attend! There will be a different teacher each week from studios like Yoga Hive, Inhale Pittsburgh, and Urban Elements. Allegheny Commons Park, located in the North Side, was recently revamped and now includes a new fountain. Some of the events will have refreshments available for purchase, such as the Main Squeeze Juice Truck.

Summer Outdoor Yoga

Enjoy the calming sights and sounds of the water while you practice yoga each week. Summer Outdoor Yoga at the Aspinwall Riverfront Park is another event that will take place all summer long with different teachers each week. This series starts on June 2nd, with classes offered at 11AM every Sunday. The event’s host is Yoga Flow, a studio located in Aspinwall across the street from the park. In the event of inclement weather, the class will get moved to an enclosed area near the dock. Summer Outdoor Yoga costs $5 in cash to attend.

NamastHay Goat Yoga of Pittsburgh™ to Benefit Hello Bully

By now maybe you’re heard of goat yoga, but have you tried it yet? On Saturday, June 1st at 2PM, you’ll get to interact with adorable goats while you practice NamastHay Goat Yoga. The event costs $20, with (human) kids ages 4-10 receiving free admission if they’re accompanied by an adult. The event will be held in a field at Potential Farm, with proceeds benefiting Hello Bully, a local nonprofit dedicated to rescuing pit bulls. You’ll also be able to purchase goat yoga merchandise such as t-shirts and hats, plus wares from other vendors, including Goat Charm Chakra jewelry by Rainy Laux, Vi Laux’s Glass Ornaments, and Mio’s Organic Elixirs.

Yoga on the Lawn

Care for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with your Sun Salutation? On Sunday, June 2nd at 11AM the Red Fox Winery will be hosting a yoga flow class on their lawn with Jill Sansom and Erin Scanlon. Yoga on the Lawn costs $20 and will be followed by a wine sampling, light refreshments, and live musical entertainment. Guests will also receive a discount on wine purchases. If it rains, the class will be moved to a covered pavilion or inside the winery. Yoga on the Lawn is for attendees ages 21 and up.

Yoga on the Roof: ROSÉ Savasana

On Saturday, June 8th, 2019, celebrate National Rosé Day with Harris Grill and Om Lounge! Suzanne Nagel will teach an all-levels yoga class at 10AM on the roof deck of Harris Grill in downtown Pittsburgh. After Yoga on the Roof, you will receive a tasting flight of nine different rosés downstairs in the Rosé Room. Your $25 ticket includes the yoga class and tasting flight. The dining room and roof deck will have their normal hours and lunch menu afterwards. Treat yourself to a relaxing Saturday in the city!
