It’s happening this weekend — the best early-summer neighborhood yard sale! Taking place on June 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Great Mexican War Streets Yard Sale is the perfect opportunity to explore a charming Pittsburgh neighborhood, search for thrifty finds, and enjoy outdoor eating.

The yard sale headquarters is set up on lower Buena Vista. Printed maps will be available so you can find the best spots to treasure hunt. Maps will also be available online starting the day before the event. Last year, over 60 homes participated in the yard sale, drawing over 2,000 attendees.

And really, the yard sale is just a great excuse to make your way over to the Mexican War Streets. This historic neighborhood is a fun place to walk and explore as the weather’s heating up. It’s a very walkable area lined with restored row homes. The Mexican War Streets is on our list of the top hidden and unique places in the city and the most beautiful places in Pittsburgh.

It’s not a proper outdoor summer event without food trucks! Some vendors that will be in attendance include BRGR, Wigle Whiskey, Mezza Luna Cafe, Baby Loves Tacos, Wagsburgh, and Threadbare Cider and Mead. Be sure to check out the event’s Facebook page for an up-to-date list of the food and beer vendors in attendance. You’re also only a short walk from Federal Galley and Brugge on North.

The Great Mexican War Streets Yard Sale is put on by the Mexican War Streets Society, a non-profit dedicated to preserving this historical Central Northside neighborhood.
