For most, change is often seen as a good thing. A fresh, new and exciting perspective that has yet to be seen, hoping to change the way in which we view the world around us.
With this motto in mind, the Squirrel Hill Theater – which has remained vacant since it’s closing in 2010, is about to receive a face-lift, courtesy of Barry White.
Set for a grand opening weekend of Saturday, Feb. 15th through Sunday, Feb. 16th, The Marquee is set to showcase a who’s-who of local talent.
The opening weekend (which will be sponsored by Acoustic Music Works) will feature Starship Mantis and Tribe Eternal on Feb. 15th; additionally, theCAUSE and Buffalo Rose on Feb. 16th.
The call-to-action for The Marquee will be to initiate a set-list with local bands, with the potential to bring in national acts to pair with them.
In addition, there will also be DJ nights, which has a tiered architectural layout with the dance floor in front of the stage, while a bar and dining area will be situated directly above it. And if that isn’t enough to get you excited – there will also be a large movie screen for videos.
White, who will be managing the music/ venue of The Marquee, is currently overseeing the same responsibilities for Squirrel Hill Sports Bar, will be focusing his attention on garnering musical talent to take place at The Marquee.
Be sure to get your rock-n-roll finest and head to The Marquee – the slated to be hottest venue in the area.
