Ready, set, shake! The Pittsburgh City Paper Cocktail Shake Off stirs up on Feb. 27th (6:30pm-10pm) at the Energy Innovation Center. The best mixologists in the Burgh will face off for ultimate shake off supremacy. Who will be crowned 2020 Cocktail Champion?!

So, what’s going to happen at the shake off? The exciting night features 16 of the best bartenders, each competing in 4 different rounds. Each mixologist will be given a spirit and mystery ingredient! But they’ll have to think of something quickly–they have 30 minutes to create a unique original cocktail. The first shake begins at 7pm! Awards will be given for the best gin, vodka, rum, and whiskey drink!

But don’t worry about the pressure, you’ll have the easy job of sampling each cocktail! Judges will be on hand to decide the cocktail champion, with the winner receiving $500 along with a championship belt. How awesome is that?! The fans will decide the people’s choice–the winner gets $500 and the official people’s choice trophy. Which creative cocktail will be your fav?!

The list includes some of the top mixers and shakers in the city: Quantum Spirits, Bar Marco, Butcher and the Rye, Pork & Beans, Lamont Restaurant, Bridges & Bourbon, Smallman Galley, Con Alma, Stagioni, The Twisted Frenchman, Oakmont Country Club, Umami Pgh. While the cocktails are being made you can have some free food by The Fluted Mushroom. Yes! And there’s live music from DJ TJ Harris.

The general admission ticket ($60) gets you samples at all participating bartenders stations, food, and entertainment. The designated driver ticket ($15) scores you food, entertainment, and mocktail samples.
