Brunch with great views takes new meaning for gorgeous riverfront looks and unforgettable ballet performances this Sunday, June 12, 2022, starting at 12 p.m. Enjoy the breeze from the river and soak in the creativity and bliss from Confluence Ballet’s Ballet & Brunch, part of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater’s Open Air: A Series of Celebration of the Performing Art. Did we mention it’s FREE?! Just pack your own picnic!

Confluence Ballet will perform repertory from their Versatile Voices concert by choreographers Julia Erickson, former Principal Dancer of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, as well as CBC Company Artists Meghan Phillips and Kaila Carter. The performance will also feature classical variations from Les Sylphides and The Firebird.

Confluence Ballet has been a visionary in the beauty of ballet since its incorporation in 2021. The company notably focuses on breaking free from the restraints of racial inequality and stigmas focused on body types, while producing works in classical, neoclassical and contemporary genres. Patrons can follow the new and thriving company on Facebook and Instagram to learn more and follow for updates.

On Sunday, goers and picnic loungers can also peruse a small vendor area to purchase art created by some of the dancers as well as items from local women-owned businesses. All proceeds benefit Confluence Ballet’s mission.

Find your perfect outside picnic spot at the Sharpsburg Allegheny Riverfront Park at 1 19th Street Sharpsburg, PA 15215, and be sure to head to the Facebook event page here!
