Radiant Hall has a big day planned for you. And even bigger things in store for Pittsburgh-based artists.

This local nonprofit is on a mission to make Pittsburgh more attractive and accessible for artists by creating and preserving studio environments for them to work. And that’s exactly what they’ve been doing since 2012 when they opened the doors to their first studio space in Lawrenceville. Now, Radiant Hall provides affordable, rent-controlled studio space for 26 artists.

But that’s just the beginning. Ryan Lammie, Radiant Hall’s Executive Director, has hatched a massive expansion plan that includes three new locations that will supply the Pittsburgh creative community with 50 more artist studio spaces.

The Radiant Hall Studio Tour

Here’s your chance to see the expansion plans, and new spaces up close. Join Radiant Hall for their first annual fundraiser and prepare to be swept around the city for a showcase of art, complete with brunch, adult beverages, music and much more.

This unconventional fundraiser is set to take place on Saturday, September 19. That’s when 100 supporters will be treated to brunch at the Energy Innovation Center in the Lower Hill District – the soon-to-be home of a Radiant Hall studio and co-working space. Then patrons will pop over to NOVA Place at Allegheny Center on the North Side, to tour 16 new artist studios and a 5-person residency program Radiant Hall will have in place by year’s end.

The day wraps up back where it all began, in Radiant Hall’s Lawrenceville location. Guests will have the opportunity to meet current artists and visit with them in their own spaces. Local DJ Desus will spin tunes as a live art auction gets underway.

When all’s said and done, you’ll have toured three creative spaces while learning the ins and outs of Pittsburgh’s art scene as seen shaped by efforts of an innovative nonprofit. And, of course, your participation in this tour supports these expansion efforts while providing financial assistance for artists demonstrating a critical need.
