As we’ve gotten older, we’ve started to realize just how much our parents have done for us through the years. Between teaching us skills like riding a bike, fixing a flat tire, and giving us advice that we usually ignore but should probably listen to, dads make a lot of sacrifices. This year, we want to thank our dads with something special…and here are our three favorite ways to show him a little extra love this Father’s Day:

Revamp his wardrobe at Surmesur.

Because if your dad is like ours, he sometimes dresses like, well, a dad. At Surmesur, dad will look and feel his best thanks to high-quality custom clothing. Their personal stylists will work with you and dad to determine his style and any specific needs, so they can truly find his fit. Here’s how it works: you’ll create unique shirts, suits and trousers by choosing from the finest fabrics in the world to make sure everything is to your taste. You’ll select options, like collars, cuffs, contrasts, pockets, buttons, and more. Dad will get measured (and they keep the measurements on file for any future purchases!) and then he’ll be fitted once the garments are finished. Alterations are included, so you know everything will be a perfect fit. And don’t worry if you go in without a clear idea of what you’re looking for – their stylists are legit the experts, and they will guide you through the entire process. Whether you foot the bill or all go in together for a gift card, dad is going to get a huge confidence boost this Father’s Day!

Make sure his glass is full of great whiskey from Wigle.

Be honest…who doesn’t enjoy winding down from a long day with a drink sometimes? Make sure dad is drinking the best by stocking him up from Wigle Whiskey. With their impressive portfolio of 36 unique, made-from-scratch Pittsburgh spirits, Wigle has something for every dad. If dad likes something to sip on, the Wigle Kilted Rye is our current favorite. It’s finished in Scotch barrels, and it goes down nice and smooth. And, protip: get their whiskey barrel aged coffee or maple syrup if you need a non-alcoholic gift. Plan ahead and take dad on a Distillery tour – they sell out weeks in advance! And make sure you leave time for a meal at their new restaurant (get the pierogi!) after checking out their mini-museum.

Spend the day together at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.

Because sometimes there’s nothing better than just spending some quality time together. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is the perfect place to visit with the whole family. Explore over 60 acres of gardens and woodlands – play a song in Soothing Sounds, follow the Pollinator Trail to the Apiary, and definitely take time to relax by the Lotus Pond. Grab some lunch at the Canopy Café while you surprise him with the gift of a membership so he can visit with free admission for a year! He’ll also enjoy discounts to various programs on plant-based topics, like how to grow vegetables and perennials, along with wellness sessions of yoga, tai chi, and meditation. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm, with extended hours on Wednesday and Thursday to 7 pm. Get your timed tickets on their website or by calling 412-444-4464.
