We love shopping. But…sometimes our budget doesn’t. And we don’t always like to buy new items because we also love the Earth. That’s why we love going to consignment shops! We get to bring home new-to-us items like clothes, accessories, or furniture, AND we’re giving something that might have otherwise gone to a landfill a new home. Here are three of our favorite consignment shops for you to shop with us!

Consign Sewickley

Consign Sewickley is redefining luxury. They’re a boutique of carefully curated designer women’s clothing and accessories – and they’re putting an emphasis on personalizing your shopping experience. It’s more like shopping your girlfriend’s closet than being in a store! Their goal is to provide such excellent customer service, paired with their cool, friendly vibe, that you can’t help but go back again and again.

They like to have fun at Consign Sewickley, saying “there’s nothing that you need here, only what you want” and we’re into it! It’s the perfect place to sell your less-loved items in favor of finding that unique piece you might not have otherwise had the chance to get.

Consign Sewickley has all the information you need to know about consigning with them on their website. Be sure to make an appointment, as they don’t accept walk-in drop offs.

Consignment Cottage

Consignment Cottage is more than just a cottage – it’s three buildings full of fashion, home decor, furniture, and sometimes even live plants! The Cottage is the main building, which has two floors full of women’s clothing (including a small section of maternity, accessories, jewelry, and authentic designer handbags – no knock offs here! They also sell candles, gift items, home decor, books, and a full line of Fusion Mineral Paint. If you haven’t heard, Fusion Mineral Paint is a DIY dream, because it’s a 100% acrylic paint that requires minimal prep, no top coat, and delivers an exceptional matte finish.

The Furniture Barn is where you’ll find handpainted and/or repurposed items. And we’re talking every style of furniture, from traditional to contemporary, farmhouse to mid-century modern, vintage to industrial. The Garden Shed is open spring through fall, and it’s home to unique garden decor and planters, plus the occasional annuals and perennials.

If all of that wasn’t enough, Consignment Cottage also offers after hours events, private shopping parties, and even paint workshops. Get more information on their website, along with all the details you need to know to consign with them. Located only 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh Airport, this is one consignment shop that you won’t want to miss!

Treasure House Fashions

One of our favorite things about Treasure House Fashions is that it’s actually a nonprofit whose mission is promoting the dignity and self-esteem of women, particularly women in transition or crisis. They believe that although your outward appearance isn’t an accurate reflection of your worth, it can certainly help you appreciate the treasure that you are! They offer clothing from pajamas to business-wear, and everything in between. And we’re talking name brands, too, like Ann Taylor, Free People, and J. Crew.

The shop is actually run by volunteers, and anyone can shop there. When you do, you’re helping support their mission! Treasure House Fashions also helps cater to single moms, sassy seniors, and female veterans by offering them half off their purchases during regular store hours. They don’t sell any children’s clothing because, let’s be honest, most mothers will buy for their kids before themselves if they’re given the chance. And Treasure House Fashions wants to encourage mothers to take care of and invest in themselves in order to be a more effective role model.

You can help support Treasure House Fashions just by shopping there! You can also donate your gently loved clothing, your time, or give a monetary donation on their website. They also offer after-hours Girls’ Night Out events…check their website for more details.
