Are you team it’s-still-fall-and-Thanksgiving or team decorate-for-the-holidays? Either way, this is the best time of year to spruce up your home with holiday decor! Especially with the days being shorter, we love that cozy feeling fall and holiday touches bring.
If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out a few of our favorite Instagrammers! Inspired By Charm has tons of seasonal content including decor, DIYs, and recipes. Zoe With Love is fun for interiors and fashion. With Love and Kelly has the cutest interiors – and she’s the creator behind The Darling Market. (We’re always looking for more inspiration, so tell us your favorite accounts in the comments and we’ll follow them, too!)
Once you’ve gotten your inspiration, it’s time to go shopping…and you know we’re shopping local!
Holiday Pop-Up Markets

Holiday pop-up markets are one of our favorites for finding local seasonal decor. We love that we can shop multiple makers in one place! I Made It! Market pops up all over the city, and they always have a great selection. And The Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Market Square is basically a holiday tradition – although they aren’t open until November 19. Keep an eye on local social media (like ours!) and the news to hear about all the events popping up. Another good resource? The Pittsburgh Moms Network usually posts a list of events happening around the city each weekend – perfect for individuals, couples, groups of friends, or families.
Local Stores

So many locally owned stores feature items from local makers! Some of our favorites include Boheme Pittsburgh, Small Mall, and love, Pittsburgh. And, always keep an open mind when you’re shopping around…some places – like the local-family-owned Ace Hardware in Wexford – may surprise you with their variety of home items. Take a walk around a new neighborhood or an old favorite, and wander through the stores to see what you find.
Shop Directly with Local Vendors

And, with such a wealth of local creators, you can always shop directly with them. (Like, how droolworthy are these candles launching next week from Jenna Vanden Brink Ceramics?!) From candles to mugs, we have tons of home decor recommendations in our archives! You can also check out hashtags on Instagram, like #madeinpgh and #pghcreative to find new makers. If someone can make it, we can pretty much guarantee there’s someone making it here in Pittsburgh – so support local with your dollars!
