Live shows are lighting up the pre-holidays. More bands are going back on tour, with fans eager to quench their thirst for a live show again. Oh it tastes good! The cool thing is that Pittsburgh has a good list of upcoming November shows, featuring local and national acts. Here’s a rundown of concerts to check out!

Gary Clark Jr.

The master bluesman brings his Texas-blues roots to the Burgh for an epic night at Stage AE on November 10th. Over the years he’s established himself as one of the best guitarists of today, crushing it on stages all over the world. Not to mention he’s an awesome songwriter. We can probably expect some jams from his 2019 “This Land” LP.  $44.50/Doors 7pm

Silversun Pickups

Alt-rockers Silversun Pickups will hit Stage AE on November 12th for their current tour. The music festival veterans always put on a great show, with earlier hits from “Lazy Eye” and “Panic Switch” to 2019’s “It Doesn’t Matter Why”. They aren’t supporting a new album so the setlist should be really interesting to see. Either way, it’s sure to be a fantastic show. $29.50 GA Advance/$35 GA Day of Show/Doors 6pm

WYEP’s 5th Annual Pittsburgh Indie Rock Fest

Local indie rocks! Save the date for November 20th at the Thunderbird Cafe. The $20 ticket scores you a mix of genres, from electronic to hip hop to rock. The festival celebrates independent artists in the area–100% of the admission costs goes to the artists performing! Must show proof of vaccination or negative PCR test upon arrival. Doors 3pm/ Show 4pm.

Chvrches

One of the biggest acts to emerge from the alt rock scene, Chvrches are no strangers to the Pittsburgh music stage. They headlined the Thrival Festival back in 2016. The new single “Good Girls” is one of their best singles yet. Singer Lauren Mayberry will have the crowd pumped with her soaring vocals and energetic style. Check them out on November 22nd at Stage AE! $30.50 GA Advance/$33 Day of Show/Doors 7pm.

The Commonheart

Pittsburgh’s own The Commonheart returns to Mr. Smalls on November 26th with their annual charity event, Do Right Pittsburgh. This year they are partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh for a coat and volunteer drive supporting children in Pittsburgh. They’ll be collecting winter items at the show including coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Also hitting the stage is The Buckle Downs and DJ Big Phill! The event is all ages! $25/Doors 7pm/Show 7pm.

Light Up Night

Light up night is back on November 27th! And this year it will be held on a Saturday night, giving the festivities more of a party atmosphere. The headline act this year is American Authors, known for their hit song “Best Day of My life”. Local acts include Lyndsey Smith, Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers, Donora, Mr. Smalls All-Star Beatles Tribute, and more!
