We know it’s tempting to spend all your moola on Black Friday deals, but be sure to start saving for and planning for your Small Business Saturday shopping ahead of time.
It’s important to #ShopLocal to support local entrepreneurs and neighborhood small businesses, especially when every nook and cranny of Pittsburgh is full of them! Steer clear of those big box stores this year and give love to some of our great local businesses.
Every neighborhood has great options, but to save you a little leg work here are a few we’ve handpicked to jump start your local spending spree.
Downtown boasts a somewhat compact business district, which is pretty handy for getting all of your holiday shopping done 1-2-3. Or you can just fill your belly with some great local fare. All within a few blocks you’ll find businesses like love, Pittsburgh, Nicholas Coffee Co, Oliver Flower Shop, and Market St Grocery.
Go end-to-end along Butler Street (as well as Penn Ave) and you’ll pass so many small businesses along the way, like City Grows, Songbird Artistry, Mi Empanada, and Engine House 25 Wines. (PS. And don’t forget about the Cookie Tour on December 11th.)
Pittsburgh’s “Little Italy” offers more than just a taste of Italy. On and around Liberty Ave you’ll find a range of small business goodies like White Whale Bookstore, Gryphon’s Tea House, Friendship Perk & Brew, Spill the Wine Bar, and Tessaro’s.
