Some people say summer is the season for BBQ, but we have to disagree. BBQ is best eaten when you’re hungry, no matter what season it is. And if you’re hungry for BBQ, you should check out Spork Pit.

Located in Garfield, Spork Pit is the sister restaurant of Spork. They opened in August, and people have been talking about them ever since. They’re serving up everything from brisket to pulled pork to mac and cheese and collard greens. Speaking of, order the collard greens. Seriously. You won’t regret it.

The focaccia and brioche buns are made at Spork, but everything else is made at Spork Pit. That includes three homemade sauces to try on their smoked meats: one that is vinegary, one that is sweeter (made with cherries and maple syrup), and one that is Texas style (with chili powder and some veg-action). The vinegar one on the pulled pork? *insert praise hands emoji*

Keep an eye on Spork Pit’s social media accounts – they’re planning on making beef ribs once a week…and you won’t want to miss it!
