Ok, we know that Piper’s Pub might not be the most photogenic restaurant. It is a *pub* in every sense – dimly lit and laid-back. But what it lacks in lighting, it makes up for with darn good food and whiskey. And, if you’re a football fan (soccer to us Americans), you won’t find a better crowd in Pittsburgh to watch a match with.
Piper’s Pub has been cooking up pub favorites in the South Side for almost 20 years. They serve everything from fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and bangers and mash to traditional Sunday supper. (Sunday supper in Scotland is typically roasted meat, potatoes, a vegetable, and Yorkshire pudding…and man, does Piper’s make a mean one!) They change their menu a couple times a year, but follow them on social media to find out their daily lunch and dinner specials. Trust us, they’re drool-worthy enough to make you reconsider whatever you had planned.
And, if you’ve ever looked for a brunch spot on the weekend before 10am, Piper’s has you covered! They open at 8:30 Saturdays and Sundays to serve up a killer brunch menu. Our favorites include the chicken and waffles or whatever boxty special they create. (A boxty is pretty much a giant potato pancake from heaven…or Ireland. Yeah, you’ll want to order that pronto!)
If all that wasn’t enough, you’ll need to save room for dessert. We definitely recommend their sticky toffee pudding and whiskey chocolate pot du creme, but they also feature a special dessert on the weekends from ThreeFifty.
Long story short, you’re about to leave full, hungry, and happy af.
