Held March 2-11 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, this year’s Home and Garden Show is *not* just for homeowners (or gardeners). There’s over 10 acres of vendors showcasing their skills and crafts, from distilleries and bakeries to artists and designers. You’ll definitely want to taste, sample, and selfie your way through the whole festival.
1. Drink Tastings
You can sample tons of local spirits and wines, from Wigle Whiskey to Ridge Runner Moonshine, not to mention a ton of wineries (including Volant Mill Winery, which will be featuring wine slushies). We’ll be stopping at every. Single. One.
2. Tons of Grub
Did we mention you can basically eat your way through the isles? Vendors will be bringing their A-game of amazing food, from chocolate moonshine to the spiciest jerky we’ve ever had. Into the matcha trend? You’re in luck, since Ultra Match will be there selling tea kits. Stressing because you missed girl scout cookie season? Worry not. They’ll be there in full force with badges and Samoas.
3. You Can Bring Your Pet
Your pupper will thank you for all the homemade treats, accessories, and other doggos there to play with. Plus, they can check out some doghouses that are more along the lines of dog homes.
4. Go Gift Crazy
There will be tons of art, candles, and more, so if the holiday gift you got your sibling is “still lost in the mail,” this is your chance to pick up something unique and local.
5. Plants on Plants
February is grey, and you probably need to brighten up your space. The HGS will have flowers and herbs of all kinds, plus a bunch more unique greenery that doubles as art. Those air plants you see all over Instagram? They got ‘em. How about something called a “living tree chair?” What is that? We want two.
6. Plan Your Dream Bathroom
Sure, you might not be able to afford it right now, but who doesn’t love planning a lavish bathroom with a king-sized tub? Our dream is a clawfoot but there’s no wrong answer.
We’ll see you there!
