Earlier this year local recycling programs really shattered our notions of what recycling can be when glass –a staple of many-a-recycling-bin– was tossed aside and kicked to the curb. Now every time we finish a 6-pack it pains us to clink them into garbage can instead of that earth-loving one with the recycling logo.

We know we aren’t alone in this disappointment so we were excited to learn of upcoming “Better Recycling Workshops” being offered by the City of Pittsburgh and Department of Environmental Protection.

The aim of the workshops is to improve Recycling in PGH by educating on changes to the recycling program, provide tips on reducing waste, and provide you insights from experts (aka recycling knowledge for your reuse!).

Much like finding a creative reuse for something, these workshops are free.

There are four workshopportunities: Wednesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 12. Morning sessions, from 9-10:30 AM are for commercial businesses and the evening sessions from 6:30-8 PM are geared towards residential customers. All sessions are at Construction Junction.
