Let’s face it….when most of us say “Lawrenceville” we really mean “Butler Street”. And with good reason! Butler Street is home to the most amazing restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and businesses you could imagine. Looking for antiques? Butler Street. Natural beauty and wellness products? Butler Street. Authentic French pastries? Butler Street! So, take take a stroll with us as we tell you about a few of our favorite stops, from one end of Butler to the other.

Asian Influences

If you’re looking for that perfect piece to finish a room, check out Asian Influences. They offer fine art, antiques, and furniture with an Asian aesthetic, so you know you won’t find that same old thing everyone else has. So what can you find? Porcelains from the Neolithic era to the late twentieth century, furniture from the mid-nineteenth to late-twentieth century, and artwork like Japanese woodblock prints, Chinese ink paintings, and contemporary monotypes and watercolors. If you’re not up on all of your lingo, we recommend just going to the store to see for yourself, because we think you’ll like what you see!

NatuRoll Creamery

4318 Butler Street
What’s a trip down Butler Street without a visit to NatuRoll Creamery? Their gorgeous (and delicious) rolled ice cream is made using a frozen dessert technique popular in Thailand that combines the base flavor of cream with your choice of ingredients. Which means they can accommodate almost all allergies and dietary needs! Their vegan/dairy-free ice cream base is made using Oatly Brand Oat Milk, so they have something for everyone. And they’re now making an RX Roll using RX Nut Butter for the health-conscious dessert seeker. And they also do catering and all kinds of private events.

Una Biologicals

We are firm believers that what you put in and *on* your body matters, which is why we love Una Biologicals. They craft over 90 chemical-free products for the whole family (including the guys!), from natural body butters and deodorants to face cream, herbal healing salves and lip balm to headache relief. Plus they have a carefully curated mix of thoughtful, unique gifts like jewelry, candles, and housewares. AND they host DIY bars and workshops for everything from mushroom foraging to crystals 101.

Civilization PGH is home to the newest streetwear for both men and women. They carry both local and international boutique brands, so you’re sure to find the pieces you’re looking for. You can find everything from the latest trends to staples, and many of the items are unisex so you can mix and match and share and not worry about which “side” of the store you’re shopping. And check their Facebook to find out the latest events and info!

The Candle Lab

Butler Street Lawrenceville

4409 Butler Street
Um, hi, hello, who doesn’t love candles? Because we do, and The Candle Lab totally has our number. Obviously they sell amazing candles. But did you know they also host candle parties – that are BYOB! – where you can pour your own candles? You don’t just pour the candle when you make your own, you’re able to customize the scent using any of their 110 fragrances. So get a group together (of any size, small or large) and celebrate your next occasion with a candle party. Even if that “occasion” you’re celebrating is just getting the group together 😉

La Gourmandine Bakery

4605 Butler Street
You know we need more than one snack break when we go somewhere, and La Gourmandine is one of our favorites! It’s like a trip to France without leaving Pittsburgh. We recommend their macarons, almond croissants, Le Parisien sandwiches, eclairs, tartes, and well, you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. It’s all made from scratch daily, and it really can’t get fresher than that. Our best advice is to get an assortment and try one of everything! Oh, and don’t forget they also have locations in Mt. Lebanon, Hazelwood, and downtown.

Hippie & French

Whether you’re very knowledgeable or a total newbie, Hippie & French is the perfect place to go for all of your CBD needs. And your pet’s needs, too! They believe everyone should have access to the highest quality CBD oil, and they’ve set out to make it accessible. All of their products have third-party lab reports available, and every product is whole plant derived, full spectrum, organic, non-GMO, and free of pesticides, herbicides, and solvents. Not sure what that means? They’re happy to answer all of your questions. And no, you don’t need a medical marijuana card to go into the store or purchase their products.

Von Walker & Funk

5201 Butler Street
You know when you meet someone and know you’re going to hit it off? That’s how we feel about Von Walker & Funk. We totally live by their 5 rules, and we love that they have a Frenchie named Beau. But, back on track, VW&F is a lifestyle shop and event creative. It’s the perfect spot to find lux gifts, vintage and modern decor, custom lighting, bougie soap, and whatever else they might have fallen in love with recently. Oh, and you know those Insta-worthy balloon displays for parties and events? They do that, too.
