Moodedibles founder Holly Teegarden hopes that someday, her newly-launched mobile and online edible bakery will be like the “Millie’s of edibles.”

Teegarden, who also owns brick-and-mortar CBD boutique and Delta 8 dispensary Moodporium on Beaver Street in Sewickley, came up with the concept for Moodedibles more than a year and a half ago. She said that she saw a need in the region for more sophisticated edibles – with ingredients that can help with pain, anxiety, sleep, and even intimacy.

“I have a deep passion for supplements and natural ways to feel good and care for yourself, as well as food,” she explains. “I researched what the landscape for these kinds of edibles is like beyond just Pennsylvania and asked, ‘how are people using edibles for mood enhancements?’”

In states where marijuana is allowed recreationally, this is already happening – but what about PA? Well, we’re finally getting there, with edibles containing ingredients that enhance your mood (and don’t violate any laws).

“The edibles that we create at Moodedibles do have THC from Delta 8, which starts out as a CBD isolate derived from hemp and is federally legal,” explains Teegarden. “It starts out at 20 milligrams, which is a very low dose, so you can enjoy the benefits without really getting high.”

However, what really makes Moodedibles treats unique isn’t necessarily the THC or the CBD – it’s Teegarden’s curated use of terpenes.

Terpenes are naturally-occurring compounds found in plants, and you’re probably already familiar with some of them. For example, lavender is known to help you feel relaxed, and that’s thanks to the terpenes found in the plant.

Teegarden combines terpenes from familiar sources like lavender, citrus, tea, and spices with cannabinoid terpenes to create tasty edible treats that support a range of wellness goals, such as easier sleep, lower stress, less pain, and even an increased libido.

(For the latter, you’ll want to try her Mexican hot chocolate brownie, which combines a specific cannabinoid with aphrodisiacs like cocoa and cinnamon for a spicy effect!)

The Moodedibles truck will carry both broad-spectrum CBD treats that can enhance your mood and do not contain THC along with an elevated line that does contain THC from Delta 8. To purchase CBD treats, you’ll have to be at least 18 years old, and you’ll need to be 21 and over to secure any THC treats (and don’t forget to bring your ID).

“I really believe in transparency, so we’ll have labels on every product explaining everything that goes into it,” says Teegarden. “We are also third-party testing every single product for pesticides, dosing, and strains, which is standard within the industry and helps ensure that everyone knows exactly what they’re eating.”

Of course, Teegarden says that a lot of testing goes into finding just the right flavor as well.

“A lot of times, edibles will work quite well for feeling elevated or enhancing your mood, but they’ll taste like earth,” she says with a laugh. “I wanted to make sure that everything we put out not only worked well, but it has to taste great too.”

Whether you’re an experienced edible consumer or you’ve never tried any kind of edible at all, Moodedibles can help you find the right type of elevated treat for you. According to Teegarden, the mood-crated treats are a great entry to cannabinoid products for new consumers because they don’t contain the THC that can be intimidating for those who are unfamiliar with it.

Best of all? While Moodedibles Delta 8 edibles are two servings so that they can be shared with a partner or a friend, the mood-crafted CBD treats are single servings, so you get to enjoy every tasty, plant-powered bite for yourself!

So, where can you get your hands on Moodedibles treats? To start, you can expect to find Moodedibles at the Strip District Terminal twice a month at their Saturday markets through summer and fall, but Teegarden hopes to pop up in as many quadrants of the city as possible and hopefully explore where a Moodedibles brick-and-mortar could someday appear.

“Having a food trailer for Moodedibles was a no-brainer,” says Teegarden. “Doing so allows me to look at different markets in the city outside of just where my physical store is and see what markets are going to be most receptive to these types of products.”

This summer, make sure you try some elevated treats from Moodedibles!
