The stages of winter, spring and summer all in one day will eventually pass in typical Pittsburgh weather, and patio season will be officially here. Here are a few places to dine outside and enjoy a fresh breeze with your favorite pals and plates this sunshine season:
Enjoy Allegheny River waterfront views at Redfin Blues, which is back in action for the feel-good weather season. The seafood-focused restaurant has a loaded menu with drink specials to sip at their open-air bar, outside also. Fit for any occasion, the laid-back restaurant will have you feeling that vacation breeze. Plus, take a walk around the historic Washington’s Landing when dining is complete.
Overlooking North Park Lake, Over the Bar at the North Park Boathouse is a little getaway with its perks. Bask in the lake view from shore to shore and warm up to designated fire pits if the Pittsburgh weather turns flaky. With appetizers, burgers, salads, sandwiches, specialty cocktails and a beer list, the cozy and classic spot is a must-visit during the weekend. Did we mention they even have brunch?
Escape to another place with Pusadee’s Garden’s out-of-this-Pittsburgh-world patio. Central in the new restaurant design, get lost in the beauty and splendor of the niche patio. Taste explosively good Thai cuisine and enjoy a moment in time of the greenery in the garden. Patio seating is based on the weather each day, and patio heaters are available. When making a reservation, please note for garden/patio season, and the restaurant will do their best to accommodate based on weather and availability.
Colorful and playful, sit with your friends in the heart of Lawrenceville at Round Corner Cantina, an Oaxacan-focused eatery with scratch-made staples. Enjoy happy hour Monday-Friday from 5-6 p.m. and even book a party for special occasions. The small yet welcoming and comfortable patio space will spark special conversations and even better bites off their tasty menu.
Over Eden, a rooftop bar in Lawrenceville has re-opened in April to welcome Spring and new arrivals of tastes and great company. Over Eden’s hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 4:30-11 p.m. by walk-ins only. Sit on top of the world and soak in the skyline view of Pittsburgh in the distance as the clouds roll by while relaxing on the spacious rooftop.
