Looking for a new coffee shop? Head over to the Bakery Square area to try KLVN Coffee Lab.  KLVN Coffee Lab used to be a mobile operation, dishing up drinks at events like farmer’s markets in Pittsburgh and beyond. Their brick and mortar store opened in the winter of 2020, helping steadily supply caffeine fixes to yinzers.

Their storefront’s design features light wood, exposed metal, and greenery dangling from the ceiling. As you wait to place your order, be sure to pursue the merchandise for sale. you’ll find everything from art, wellness, pottery, beauty, and clothing products for sale. Order a hot or cold beverage to get your fix. All coffee is sourced from a  “ small network of boutique importers and several producer-relationships.” Once acquired, all coffee is roasted and brewed in-house. The process is visible, as bags of beans and roasting machines are clearly visible in the right hand side of the store. Some menu highlights include the cold brew, perfect for a Pittsburgh summer, and a perfectly sweet mocha. Dairy and non-dairy products are available for your drinks. Not sure what to get? Friendly staff can walk you through the menu.

Eager to take the coffee home with you? Bags of whole bean coffee are available for sale. Explore their blends online. In addition, you can order a “coffee subscription” for a weekly blend to be sent straight to your door.

The author got a cold brew coffee, beef empanada, and spinach empanada.

Covid-19 Safety Measures:

Adjusting with the times, KLVN Coffee Lab is abiding with all of Governor Wolf’s mandates. Masks must be worn at all times while inside. The windows ( weather permitting) are opened fully to help with air flow. While the dine-in space is currently not open for use, three wide benches are available for dining outside of storefront. There are clear markers on the ground to help you maintain a safe distance from employees and fellow customers.
