Miracle® Christmas Pop-Up Bar
This Christmas-themed pop-up bar originally started in NYC. With plenty of over-the-top holiday decorations and festive cocktails, Miracle has expanded to locations worldwide. Chrismukkah Galley
As an East-Ender myself, I love any excuse to go to Bakery Square. Chrismukkah Galley celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah in a gingerbread house-inspired venue. Enjoy Chrismukkah with snacks like turkey chili, potato latkes, and breakfast all day. They offer a friendly atmosphere with draft beers, White Claw, and a custom cocktail menu. Half of the proceeds will benefit the Tree of Life Synagogue and East Liberty First Presbyterian Church, so you can feel extra jolly supporting a good cause.
Location: 19 Bakery Square Blvd.
Time: 5 p.m.-12 a.m., Wed.-Sun.
Tinsel Town Cocktails
Harris Grill, a downtown restaurant, has transformed the first floor of their bar space into Tinsel Town. Open for Sparkle Season, Tinsel Town Cocktails has six different holiday-inspired cocktails as well as a few draft beers. This annual pop-up bar first opened on Light Up Night and will be open through the 31st.
Location: 245 Fourth Ave.
Jingle Bar
If you’re looking for over-the-top Christmas cheer, Jingle Bar is for you. With wrapping paper lining the walls and Christmas lights strung throughout, this is one festive space near Market Square. The pop-up theme is based on the claymation film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, which is sure to bring on some childhood nostalgia. Stop by for trivia on Wednesday nights and DJs on Fridays and Saturdays.
Location: 268 Forbes Ave.
Whoville — A Grinch Themed Pop-Up Bar
If, like the Grinch, you could use a little social interaction, make your way to the Hilton Garden Inn in Oakland. This Grinch-themed pop-up bar has created specialty cocktails like Max’s Mule and Jo Jo’s Jingle Juice and shots including The Cheermeister and Who Pudding. Break out your ugliest sweaters and costumes for this one. Reservations are encouraged.
Location: Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place, 3454 Forbes Ave.
Time: Dec. 6-Dec. 21, 3:30 p.m.-12 a.m.
A Christmas Story Pop-Up Bar
Just outside of the city in Green Tree is another pop-up that’s only open for two days. Relive Ralphie’s childhood Christmas with this vintage-decorated bar. See the infamous leg lamp in all its glory, along with a Red Ryder BB gun and cutouts of the movie’s characters. A Christmas Story Pop-Up Bar is hosted at the DoubleTree Pittsburgh.
Location: DoubleTree Pittsburgh Green Tree, 500 Mansfield Ave.
Date: Dec. 19 & Dec. 20
