It’s pumpkin season, sweater weather, and that time of the year for spooky good fun. You’ll look rather ghoulish if you don’t take advantage of all the festivals, haunted happenings, and seasonal celebrations you can find around Pittsburgh this fall.

Hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkins, hot apple cider—what’s not to love about the great chilly outdoors?

Zelienople Fall Festival 

Kicking off Zelie’s Fall Fest is The Nightmare Before Fall Fest, a free block party for all ages with local bands, custom merch, movie trivia, food and libations on Friday, October 10th.

Then, on Saturday, October 11th and Sunday, October 12th, enjoy loads of fall festival fun on the streets of downtown Zelienople—including free tractor-pulled wagon rides, Saturday’s chili cookoff, and Sunday’s car cruise.  

Coraopolis Fall Festival

The Coraopolis Fall Festival & Art Walk returns Saturday, October 11th from 11am-3pm. The day includes free activities for all ages, an art walk, food trucks, and vendors.

Families will enjoy the petting zoo, touch-a-truck, cornhole competition, story time, costume contest, and arts and crafts. 

Trax Farms Annual Fall Fest

Trax Farms Annual Fall Fest takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm through October 26th. Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick-your-own pumpkin or see if you can find your way through the giant 3-acre corn maze.

Purchase tickets ($12 in advance; children 2 years and under are free) for access to the hayride, maze, and pumpkin patch. Additional activities (train ride, bounce house, EuroBungee jump, obstacle course, and more) are available for an additional cost. You’ll also find live music, food trucks, and a cafe with apple cider slushies, hot or cold apple cider, and caramel apples.

Triple B Farm Fall Festival

Triple B Farm’s Fall Festival features activities designed for adults and children to enjoy together outdoors.

Fall Admission includes: big boo barn, scootin’ scooters, grain bin basketball, singing chicken show, Education Acres & Farm Animals, hayrides, two corn mazes, and more for $18/person (children 2 and under are free). Pick-your-own pumpkins and flowers are available for an additional cost.

Haunted Happenings

Lovers of spine-tingling scaries have ample opportunity to get their freaky on. Even some of these websites gave us the heeby-jeebies and made us jump; explore them if you dare!

Hundred Acres Manor

Horror and fun meet at Hundred Acres Manor. One haunted house with five haunted house sections and add-on attractions like the burial simulator voiced by horror icon Tom Savini.

This immersive experience (that includes beer gardens and other entertainment options throughout) has been named one of the scariest haunted houses in the nation and “Pittsburgh’s Best Haunted House.” General admission tickets start at $30 with the option to upgrade to a VIP experience. 

Hopewell Windmill Haunted Mini Golf

Haunted Mini Golf returns to Hopewell Windmill. Prepare yourself for a unique blend of thrills, chills, and fun as their 18-hole miniature golf course transforms into a haunted wonderland with ghostly apparitions and mischievous ghouls, all eager to challenge your putting skills.

Fall isn’t just all festivals and horror! You can also find other seasonal fun like Oktoberfests, Trunk-or-Treating, and fall-themed special events. 

Downtown Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is returning to Downtown Pittsburgh through Sunday, October 12th along Fort Duquesne Boulevard! Authentic German fare, a biergarten under the festival tent, a stein holding contest, and Karneval-style games and activities; celebrate Bavarian traditions with live music from Oompah bands, food, and family-fun.

Admission is free; tickets are required for select activities. Food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages (21+) are available for purchase.

Halloween Spooktacular at the Dependable Drive In

The Dependable Drive In transforms into a fun and spooky place for all ages on Saturday, October 18th during its Halloween Spooktacular starting at 4pm. For one evening at the drive in, you’ll find Trunk-Or-Treating for the kids, fall treats like Pumpkin Funnel Cakes and Hot Apple Cider, plus a triple feature of movies for all ages (from gentle spooky movies for the family, all the way up to the keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-carseat thrillers).

Admission: Ages 12 and up: $10, Ages 5 to 11: $5, Under age 5 is free. All attendees must purchase admission tickets even if you do not plan to stay for the movies.
