Does anyone else seem to be craving something to sip on in the evening more than usual? Just us? Yeah, we didn’t think we were alone. If you need to restock your beer fridge, liquor cabinet, or wine rack…you’re in luck!
Almost every brewery we looked up this afternoon (Saturday, 3/21) is still open in some capacity. Some are offering delivery, and all of them are accommodating curbside pickup. We think this is the perfect opportunity to try a new brewery. Use it as an excuse to make a new recipe that pairs well with the beer in your fridge. Or turn it into a date night and sample a variety pack with your significant other or roommates. Using separate glasses, of course.
Many of the local distilleries and wineries are still open, too. We already made a list of the Pittsburgh wineries in case you need a little inspiration!
Or, if you’d rather avoid going out completely, give Beverages2U a try. They’re a local company that originally opened in 1934 as a distributor. Three generations later, and they’ve added shipping beverages to their repertoire. You can order a wide variety of non-alcoholic drinks and over 300 different beers to be delivered right to your door. They even offer a weekly and monthly subscription service.
Bonus – many of the beers that they ship are local. We’re talking from breweries like Aurochs, East End, and Full Pint, to name a few. Plus they have fun beer gear like hats and shirts, and even beer and champagne candles.
Long story short: don’t let the State Stores closing keep your home bar bare. Stay stocked and support local! And drink responsibly and wash your hands, obviously.
