A cup of coffee isn’t hard to come by. In fact, Pittsburgh has a solid selection of coffee shops. But the newest addition to the local coffee shop scene is doing things a little differently. Make your way to Adda Coffee and Tea House on South Highland Street in Shadyside to see what we mean.
As you might expect, Adda offers a stellar selection of coffee (Verve) and tea (Rishi). You’ll also have options when it comes to food and snacks – a factor that most other coffee shops overlook. Adda has teamed up with Justin Steel of Bar Marco to offer small bites as well as grab-and-go snacks including vegan and gluten-free options.
Impressed? Us too. But there’s even more happening at Adda. It might help to understand what Adda actually means: it’s Bengali for informal conversation between a group of people or a place to have that conversation. And, as co-owner Sukanta Nag sees it, Adda is also a place to gather and do work. In an effort to support local artists and entrepreneurs, Adda allows you to book a “work table” for collaborating or meeting. They even have a chalkboard writing wall and mounted computer screen for patrons to utilize.
All the reason to stop by!
